    Happy

Christal, It's been a long time since I've seen your images; it's good to reconnect. This is wonderful - better yet if she's your granddaughter. The image is perfectly framed and the expression is priceless. Wonderful! Larry

    Head On

Christal, Who's shooting or addressing whom. Looks like this big horn has you in focus too. Nice image. Larry
  3. Sreten, Thanks for your visit and comment. I was perusing your portfolio; you have many excellent images. Larry
  4. Holger, I was testing out and learning to use a new lens in shooting this. I appreciate your seeing the image as art. It was over 40 degrees F when I took this. We have actually had a mild winter with little snow. We had a week or two of brutal single digit an below zero days a while ago to freeze up the river. Thanks again, Holger.

    Simply Red

Holger, Nice title. It's the simplicity of this image that makes it effective. I like the focus on the center cluster of berries. The outer ones blend into the bokeh. Thanks for your comment on my ice image. Larry
  6. Chris, Thanks for your visit and comment. Composition is everything, so thanks. Larry
  7. Two questions: How do I delete photos from my portfolio? How do I create new gallery folders? Thanks. Larry
  8. Thanks. Two more questions. How do I delete images? Also, how do I create new gallery folders? Thanks. Larry
  9. Cold snap? No, it's actually a February thaw captured without gloves. I was thinking selectively using the lines of the openings in the ice to create an abstract. Your views are appreciated. Thanks. Larry

    washing day

John, This entire set of images of Croatia and its surroundings is excellent. You do a terrific job capturing the landscape and the culture and pleasures of the locals. Larry
  11. Tony, So this is windy Pittsburgh. The impact here is in the avant garden looking man who looks to be struggling with keeping his hat and perhaps reaching for a cell phone in his pocket. Nice image. Larry
  12. Leslie, What an amazing mushroom. I didn't know mushrooms exuded such great color. You have created a most successful abstract, within its realism. I might explore cropping from the right to eliminate the open dark space at upper right. This is an afterthought. The image is terrific as it is. Larry
  13. Sreten, What a great action shot that is well composed. You create excitement in the intense concentration of each player. My eye moves up right into the ball and reaching hands at the top. I feel as if I am right there engrossed in the game. Larry

    Time to reflect

Marta, You did some serious reflection in capturing the wonderful color in this well composed image. This is an unusual and most impressive sunset. Superb. Larry

    Untitled

Michael, You saw and captured this one perfectly. It has a lot of character. Wonderful. Larry
  16. Tony, This image is out of its time and age. It could easily be an illustration in an Edgar Allan Poe story. You do such a superb job with these canvas looking images. One could easily become laser struck - not awe struck - from this one. Excellent. Larry.

    Zoe & Fiona

Patrick, This is a wonderful portrait. It is soft, natural, sharp, and expressive. The girls look like dancers. The only suggestion I have is that there seems to be flash reflections in both of their eyes. This is a winner. Larry

    Main Street

It's Main Street, a picturesque narrow street that parallels the Mississippi River in Minneapolis. I appreciate your comments and critiques. Thanks. Larry

    February Thaw

For Minneapolis, this is a warm day in February that brought out the strollers along the Mississippi River. I am interested in your views on this image. Thanks for your interest and time. Larry
  20. Holger, Well, I made it to your image....learning this new site. This image is all about tone and light. You handle both well here. I also think the diminishing size of the trees moves the eye through the image nicely. I might experiment with opening the shadows in the foreground to see if there is detail here that you want included. Just a thought. Thanks for your comment on my old Newfoundland image. Larry
  21. Holger, Thanks for your visit and comment. This image is a real oldie, taken in 2003, and suffers from lacking today's technology advances and what I have continuously learned since I took it. I am struggling with this new website. It's tougher to stay up-to-date with the images of those I have followed. Thanks. Larry
  22. Detailed view preferred. Captured in 2003 on slide film, I reprocessed this Newfoundland image to communicate the simple and hard life of families having to rely on a dying fishing industry. Your comments are appreciated. Thanks. Larry
  23. I would appreciate a tutorial on getting around and using the new site. What happened to "my workspace?" How do I find my images that have comments, so I can respond? Are my followers in one place? How does one e-mail another photographer. Lastly, I realize the site is new, but I've been a member for 10 years, not the 9 years indicated on the site. How about the tutorial? Thanks. Larry

    Untitled

Richard, I am perusing this new site and enjoying your images. The capture of the woodpecker is excellent and the bokeh on the background is perfect. Excellent capture. Larry
  25. Alf, This is a wonderful harsh, stark, and realistic depiction of nature and the toil of the crofter who owns the house. The curve in the river or water is a wonderful compositional element with the mountain looming above. The motion of the water is also perfect. Wonderful, Alf. Larry
