Kamala, You have excellent detail and sharpness in this image. You saw this image well and did a great job capturing it and converting it to B&W, The curved branches of the tree are the central compositional element for me. You have used these curving lines turning an otherwise plain site into a work of art. That branch with its head in the ground must know something special. (LOL) I keep staring at your creation. Excellent image. Larry

Alf, Your presentation, image, and write-up are both excellent. I like the excellent and simple design. The wide angle image - many would zoom on in this - places the shipwreck - a lonely remnant of years gone by - in its stark, yet beautiful setting in great light. Also the texture and folds in the sand further enhance the image. You certainly demonstrate that you a communicating a message, mood, and feeling here. Wonderful. Alf. Larry -

Soft Light at Day's End

Hi Alf, I appreciate your visit to this rather simple image. I agree that its is no great landscape. It was simply a capture of the fleeting light as I saw it. My intent was to record simplicity through the monochromatic design of the tree. I am continuously learning that the design and message of our images can supersede their place. I agree with Edward Weston's comment that simplicity is the most important concept in composition. I appreciate your kind and accurate comment. Larry -
