  1. Tony, This is great. I like the light as it softly, but distinctly highlights all elements of the image. The boats are most picturesque as is the town. Also, the vertical format works well. Larry

    Muldovan Violinist

Eve, I like the expression, detail, and action in this image. It is tack sharp, while the bowing of the violin and shows clear motion. The combination of still with action really clinches this image for me. Excellent, and the B&W conversion is quite good. Larry

Kamala, You are my first comment on the new PN website, which will take some time to negotiate. The light is excellent in this image. The frozen lake is canopied by that wonderful looming cloud which brings the eye down and creates a sandwhich where the light is the meat and the cloud and lake the bread. It works quite well, and I like it. The blue is effective in conveying the cold while the setting sun gives off a nice balance of warmth. To me, the tree at left is a needless element and almost a distraction. You might be able to get rid of it with the content aware tool. Nice image. Larry
  4. Mario, I like the mood of this image that is created by the soft light and the fog. Larry
  5. Tommy, I like the universality of this image. It could be any off the track winter scene. That's good. Its the road and the fence that clinch the image for me. For a while I wondered if the distant hill was sky. As a see the road continue through the image in a bend to the right, my eye follows your snowy tour. Nicely done. Larry
  6. Jerry, Thanks for your visit. Yes, I have been using the software for B&W exclusively. The bad news is that Nik Software is free now because Google has no plans for any updates. This could bode poorly as PS continues to be updated. Also, I am not sure that Nik programs are nondestructive. Thanks for your comment, Jerry. Larry
  7. Tony,  Nice title.  Nice image. Larry

    Rauðhólar

Peter,  I really like the lines created by the colors in the foreground mountain. Composition and color in this image are excellent.   Larry

    Morning

Mado, How many diverse and wonderful images can be made of Kootenay Lake and your stately bridge? Every shot is unique as you communicate mood and feeling with each shot. I really like the softness of this one with the yellows and greens lighting up the background. My eye goes right over there as I enjoy the boats and overall reflections along the way. You have done an excellent job capturing the morning mist and great light. Larry

    Afternoon walk

Kamala, All three of your snow images are excellent. I personally prefer this vertical image as the composition is so appealing with the trail going off to the right. This looks like a cross country ski trail. The larger views display the wonderful detail in the trees and the color coordination of the oranges and browns. Kudos on all of the shots. The B&W is also quite nice especially in the tops of the trees and the sky. Fine work. Larry
  11. Lannie, You get my vote too. The image shows your affection for this scene and area. The road is a key element here as well. You make local sights into camera art. Nicely done. Larry

    Winter scene

Kamala, Lovely painterly effect. Well done, processed, and presented. Larry
  13. Michael, Let there be fruit. Nice B&W. Larry

    lane way

John,   The street has charm; the image comes to life because of the young duo.  I'd straighten this by rotating a tad counterclockwise.   Nice.  Larry

    making music..

John, This is another of your many great candids. Does he know she's there? Guess what's on her mind. Larry
  16. Michael,  Nice street image.  Larry
  17. Tony, The lady is a statue. This image raises the question, "Is what you see in photos real?" The answer may be that it is the perception of the photographer that is being communicated that's real. I like the narrow vertical format. The signs make the image. This is an effective documentary or street image. It could be a bit sharper, but who is complaining? Nice capture. Larry

Leslie, Wonderful light and composition. Nice highlights on the pelicans and foreground. Larry

Tony,  Great composition in vertical format.  The blue of the boat matches the sky; well seen and presented.   Larry

    Beachball

John, Excellent scale and simplicity. I'd check this for straightness. It appears to dip to the left. No big deal. This could be titled :Heed the Clouds". Larry
  23. John, Funny and well done. Larry

    sunrise

Sam, This is a terrific image. You have captured wonderful color, and the sun is spectacular. The fog and backlit barn contribute to your creating an effective soft and quiet mood. Larry
  25. Colleen, Reading the road signs, I figured out that this is Boston. The motion lines and color in this night scene are excellent. The bridge works well and the central element too. Nice image. I suggest you give the image a title. The frame number with your name diminishes the message of the image, Larry
