On the right is my daughter Zoe, on the left my niece (Zoe's cousin)

Fiona. They shared daycare together for several years and are like

sisters. Comments/Critiques on this portrait of them most welcome!

Hi Patrick

After reading your critique of my image I went to vote for my favorite images and came across this little gem, which gets my vote!!

Two very cute and photogenic young ladies and in my favorite format, Black & White.... nice work Patrick :)

Compliments and warm regards

Jacqueline

Thank you Jacqueline! This lacks the Wow factor of "Benton," but hopefully there's still a subtle impact within the gaze of these subjects - as with so many portraits in the contest! Thank you for visiting :-)

Patrick, I'm thumbing through the child category which I rarely do and this is the only one that has really caught my eye so far. Then, I saw it was yours. I presume these are your girls in which case I congratulate you on fathering two sweethearts as well as being able to photograph them so well.

Thanks David, and thank you Jim! I really appreciate the feedback! Jim, these two subjects (daughter and niece) make the photography easy, and I've got scads of photos to prove it :-)

Nice beautiful faces and excellent bw conversion. In my opinion. mono conversion with this light vignette made this shot unique. Bravo.

Thanks Hamid! Your insights are appreciated. For this B&W conversion, I separated the BG from the subjects, and very slightly tinted them (3% each) different shades - BG sepia, subjects rose. Then I added the very slight vignette you detected. Thank you for noticing the effects!

Thanks for your comment on one of my "family entries". This photo had caught my eye before your comment, and i instantly liked it. Well done!

Patrick, This is a wonderful portrait. It is soft, natural, sharp, and expressive. The girls look like dancers. The only suggestion I have is that there seems to be flash reflections in both of their eyes. This is a winner. Larry
