Taken in November 2011 this was probably one of the last images that was captured of this tree. It blew down in a storm a couple of weeks later. (Hence the title) The more dramatic usual background of the mountains is not visible in this shot because of

Lovely sunset colours and a shutter speed that allows a sense of movement of the sea without freezing it too much! -
I think B & W was definitely the right choice for this one. The bright winter light can almost be felt by the viewer and the earthy foreground adds to the intense sense of being there. Nice work Michael! -

Hi Michael, I was just browsing your portfolio and I found this one particularly striking! The silhouetted figures on the pale rocks really draw the eye from the detailed foreground and moody sky. Very well done! -
