Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted January 22, 2017 Larger view preferred. This is an iPhone image taken with the 645 Pro app during a dog walk. Holding the phone still was complicated by Barclay's desire to keep moving. Smart phones don't offer much control. Illustrated here is the poor DOF in the distance, likely caused by the phone camera's capturing this image at an equivalent of f.1.8, yikes. I can get away with the excuse that its a dreary, dank day and let alliteration have its way. Let this be a lesson to cell phone camera fans. I liked the lines in this image. Leslie Reid 5,227 Posted January 22, 2017 No excuses needed! The lines work really well, and the mysterious implicit story does such a great job of catching the viewer's interest and curiosity that the technical issues aren't really noticeable. Vehicle tracks leading up to and defining a hole in the ice and disappearing...one set of boot tracks leading up toward the edge, two sets returning and one set appearing from the middle of nowhere...a book could be written with this as the plot! hstelljes 41 Posted January 22, 2017 Larry I like the choice of composition while under duress of dog walking, it's got to be a challenge! What I like best about this are the lines and the illusion of a little group of islands in the center, well seen. I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your family a very, very belated Happy Holidays, I've been away from PN for a while due to pneumonia vacation in the hospital for a week around the holidays. Hoping all is well with you.Best Always, Holger Link to comment
Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted January 24, 2017 Leslie, Thanks for the suspenseful review. Perhaps a mystery thriller could emerge, eh. You capture the essence of the image, which obviously is not a great landscape, rather a whimsical stab at recording nature on a walk. Thanks. Larry Link to comment
Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted January 24, 2017 Holger, First, I am glad you are back and recovered. The best for a healthy year to you and yours as well. I appreciate your comment. Your view of this image mirrors mine. I look forward to more images from you. Best to you. Larry Link to comment
sarah_mcnulty 5 Posted January 25, 2017 Hi Larry, very well seen composition, almost looks like a crop circle but clearly this is a frozen lake!! Good choice of B/W too. Best wishes. Sarah. Link to comment
Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted January 26, 2017 Sarah, Thanks for your visit and comment. Yes, this is frozen Lake Minnetonka during a few days of thawing warmth. Actually this is not a B&W. It was a dreary day when gray prevailed. This spot is close to the shore and a likely area for open water to appear. I appreciate your visit. Larry Link to comment
sarah_mcnulty 5 Posted January 31, 2017 Hi Larry, it must have been a very cold day indeed to make me think this was b/w :-) Best wishes. Sarah. Link to comment
