Nice juxtaposition of the horse and rider. Good DoF, but I would like her a little more in focus. Still, they seem to have similar expressions. Nice.

Like how this photo says something about how nature reclaims what people make. I agree that the contrast could be greater and also think the shot could be simplified by cropping tighter around the frostbitten radio, which seems to say something cold, broken, and out-of-touch.

Are the colors flat? Suggestions welcome.

Interesting shapes and textures. I would like to see some more angles and the subject more off center. How about a shot through those furry floppy cacti framing the big pointy one? By the way, as a person in a snowbelt state this photo makes me a little envious, but I don't envy your overheated summers. :)

Thanks for the photo of BB King. It made my day.

I have had the privilege of hearing several interviews with Mr. Monroe where his "simple down-home character" was much in evidence. He sounded like a good neighbor. With some folks what you see is what you get. BB King strikes me as being a similar kind of musician. (I saw him perform closeup a few months ago).

Bill Monroe is indeed a great musican (He will always live through his music) and this photo captures his grace. Hopefully, this photo will inspire others to checkout his music. I love how the B&W helps convey his simple down-home character.

Advice welcome.

One of my favorites in your portfolio. Did you use photoshop on this exposure?

The mountainside is echoed in the widowside, while the wires attached to nothing says something about the passage of time. I also like how the color serves as a dividing line separating the window from its silhouette/reflection. You have a great eye that enables you to see art in places that other people (like me) would overlook. Congratulations.

The harsh lighting makes this seem even more serious. Like, "be quiet or else!" This might be an excellent stock shot for promoting confidentiality, secrecy, or something similar. I really like the pose, the background, and especially the wrinkles and waves in her hair, shirt, and watchband. Bravo!

Interesting combination of light and shadow, walls and openings, tones and textures. I like the style, subject, and story (of human remains) that this shot shows.

I like the simplicity and lighting in this photo. It is so different from most of the other photos in your portfolio. Please make more photos like this one.

These pumpkins look like they are floating, like a bunch of jellyfish. Nice. How did you make it?

Your suggestions for improvements next year welcome. Thanks.

Great technique, Intriguing subjects (black and white woman with floating cards), but what is this photo's story? How should I interpret this shot? What does the stuffed animal have to do with the girl and the girl with the cards?

To echo Koen, this strikes me as two photos: one an architectural portrait of a building reflected in the water at sunset and another of a man in a boat rowing at day's end. At first, I see only the building, then I see the man, then I think about the relation between man and nature, the man-made and the natural. I think this is a good photo, but I wonder if it would be better, if the horizon were not in the middle and the man were located at the intersection of thirds. Yet, another part of me says cutting the frame in half makes the reflection work. Overall, this is a provoking image. Bravo!

Good eye. I wondered what made her standout, besides the three men looking at her, then I realized that she and the little girl stage left were the only people wearing light colors. All the faces are very interesting: There are people in the glass, sitting down (one looks so bored) behind the lady with the camera (is he checking her out?), and in front of her. Yet, you framed the shot in a way that makes it clear who your subject is. The photo captures people's relations in public (Google Erving Goffman, if you are curious). Good job!

I like the angle and sharpness of the body. The beak and wings could be better, but hummingbirds are difficult to photograph. Given how fast they move, I think the photo is in pretty good focus. The square format really helps too. Good job.

Actually, it might be anti-graffiti graffiti. Artists respect other wall artists. Next time, I go back I will try the inside.

Wonderful storytelling shot.

How can I punch up this photo?
