koendb 0 Posted January 9, 2007 While i do think that colors and such are well done, the guy in the kayak is not really breaking the rather typical view, 'because he is not enough lit to make a contrast in the water. I think that if you would have more focused on him and used the scenery (not so much the sky but rahter the reflection in the water) as a background , it could maybe have been better? Good luck. jason j 1 Posted January 10, 2007 To echo Koen, this strikes me as two photos: one an architectural portrait of a building reflected in the water at sunset and another of a man in a boat rowing at day's end. At first, I see only the building, then I see the man, then I think about the relation between man and nature, the man-made and the natural. I think this is a good photo, but I wonder if it would be better, if the horizon were not in the middle and the man were located at the intersection of thirds. Yet, another part of me says cutting the frame in half makes the reflection work. Overall, this is a provoking image. Bravo! Link to comment
