    Three baby herons

good capture and being able to get the reach to see them. however, with this lens at this aperture, i would expect a tack sharp result (at least on one of the birds .. with the DOF at this range, i imagine getting all of them in focus at f5.6 would be a no go). is it focusing on that branch in the middle?

    The eyes have it

nice expressive eyes! i think think they need to be a bit more in focus here (perhaps use USM). on further viewing, i think the focus is on her right eye. also, there are quite a few white spots that are larger than the normal b/w pixelation that are a tad annoying (at least on my screen). for example just medially to her right eye, they extend from right below her eyebrow to the bottom. perhaps cloning them out might help.

nice shot with tricky lighting, no doubt. perhaps underexposing it a tad and using PS to get details in the shadows? also, you could crop somewhat horizontally, giving more of a panoramic view and getting rid of the hot sky on the top left.

please resize as per PN guidelines. i would prefer to have seen a bit more of the railroad tracks. also, i think the image has a slight blue cast to it - i would prefer it more neutral/gray.
  1. excellent DOF here. i assume you used a star filter for the lights? the toning on the brick road is excellent. i think, though, i would like to see the shadows a tad more in detail and more exposed - perhaps using PS shadow recovery. other than that, great capture!

i think this credit card shot works better than the other one in your folder. the hands look crisply in focus and the blur of the wheel is definitely there... good job!

looks like a beautiful place. unfortunately, the flare (or is it ghosting) takes a tad away from its effectiveness. nonetheless, i still think its quite good! this pic to me is screamin' out b&w!

although i like the perspectivev of the 4 "pans", i would prefer a shot which crops in more on the artist and the currently worked on object.

interesting capture of momentary flight. i would perhaps crop the image both vertically and horizontally to zoom in more on the player. also, using auto levels/contrast would definitely improve the washed out look (it worked for me in PS using this image).
