Thanks for the great comments. It was a luck shot really. I guess if you press the shutter enough times, something decent has to come up sometime, right (laws of probability)? Ok, i guess i should have noted this earlier, but the mother is actually my mother, and the bride is my new sister-in-law. Thanks for the criticism, i really appreciate it!

I am very impressed by the quality of my prints using NPH film. Now i know why everyone says to use that during weddings!

  1. Pierre,

I love the street pic. When i first looked at the pic withouth reading a caption, something looked odd, and i realized it was the man. Specifically, the tones on his forehead to me didn't match what i thought the lighting should be doing. Then i realized you had cut n pasted him in - with great skill i might add. So, if you can darken the tones on his left side, that would make it more "believable." Other than that and perhaps his height, a great effort!

  2. Ok, this is going to sound weird, but i wish the floor was a dark color, almost black. The vibrant colors almost seem wasted against the light colored floor. But of course you had no control over that. Definitely like the movement being shown!

Great colors! The only thing i might have done differently is crop a little more out of your frame (doorframe) vertically. But i think that is a matter of opinion (duh). Good job!

I really like the tones and lighting. For me, if any part of her body was outstretched versus everything being "huddled inwards" would add a little more emphasis.

The color changes i made in PS wouldn't quite "keep" when i saved for

web option, regardless of what i tried (a little browner sepia), which

of course shows my PS newbieness. I know the crop of the woman's

elbow is a mistake in composition thru the viewfinder. I am not sure

about the vertical croppings, but to me they seem even, with the

diagonal of the bride's veil versus the bare shoulder on the other

    woman.

So, please let me know what i could have done better. Thanks.
