  1. Trying to change my screen name. Typed my desired new name in the appropriate box, clicked the Save box at the bottom of the section, get a red saved with check mark, old name still appears when I log in/post. Firefox 57.0 64 bit and Chrome 62.0.3202.94 (Official Build) (64-bit) on Dell XPS8500 and Insprion 3647 running Windows 10 Home 64 bit Version 1709 build 16299.64
  2. All leaf shutters operate from 1 second to 1/125 (1/100) from the main setting (cocking) spring tension and delay timer mechanism. Above 1/125 a booster spring is employed with the delay timer locked out. Compur shutter use a delay mechanism similar to a watch. With the shutter set to 1 second cock the shutter, position the shutter so you can see the shutter blades and the second hand of a clock or watch (sweep second hand works best). When the second hand reaches a second mark trip the shutter, the shutter should open completely and close just as the second hand reaches the next second mark. The second hand width (narrow style) either side of the next second mark is in tolerance. Set the shutter to 1/2 second and repeat. The shutter should open fully then close just as the second hand reaches the mid point between the starting and next second mark, tolerance is 1/2 the width of the second hand. Increase the shutter speed to the next speed and verify it runs faster as you go up in speed, slower as you decrease the speed. If these two speeds are off all others will likely be also. Buried in the archives of this site are the instructions for building a shutter speed tester, inexpensive and accurate.
  3. The self timer on that vintage are problematic and usually cause the shutter to hang and have to be forced to run down so that the shutter can be used. When it hangs press the release lever then push the cocking lever toward the fully released/home position until the full travel of the lever has been reached.
  4. Likely the self timer lever as shown on the CN-1307-000 Earlier versions are very similar.
  5. Time to do some basic computer maintenance. Clean Mac Malware and Speed Up Mac - Download MacBooster 6 is a paid maintenance utility, its Windows counterpart is reliable, improves computer performance, and does no harm. Mac may have some built in utilities as well. All computers regardless of operating system need routine maintenance. After the basic utility repair/reinstall Lightroom followed by software updates needed for the D810. Its possible that the installation became corrupt during the update. Preferences should be looked at after the installation is verified to be good.
  6. 1. Have the camera checked, the shutter may not be working correctly ever time resulting in no exposure when there should be one. 2. Contrast is the difference between tones/colors in a scene. In B&W contrast is controlled by exposure and development. Color print films are developed for a specified time therefore contrast is controlled by primarily by exposure. Exposure is controlled by metering. Learning to meter takes practice. Meters are calibrated to read whatever tone/color they are pointed to as 18% Gray. 18% gray is considered mid tone. Matrix metering averages the tones to 18% gray. If you point the meter toward a white object the suggested exposure will make the white look gray/dull white in the print. If you point the meter at a black object the meter will make the object mid gray or washed out black in the print.
  7. Have you read Kodak HC-110 Developer - Unofficial Resource Page HC-110 will get my vote, Xtol if storage life was not an issue.
  8. Don't expect Epson to tell you how to get the most out of your scanner, expect them to assist if the scanner does not work. Epsonscan is the same for V500, V550, V600, V700, V800. I run the first and 4th of these. First off set the software to Professional Mode Next click on the Configuration tab click on the No Color Correction, close the box, and scan the negative, edit in post processing for the best looking image. The histogram adjustments will be negated if the Continuous Auto Exposure is not deselected with Color Control selected. Information in the negative will be the vertical rise above the base line. The White triangle is the highlights, the black one the blacks, the grey one the gamma or mid tones. Set each the black and white to the point where the information for the darkest black and brightest white start to rise above the baseline, then slide the grey one to give the desired mid tones, toward white darkens, toward black lightens, very slight movement is needed or necessary.

  10. I too have CS5 on Windows 10, Help>Deactivate>Suspend or Deactivate Permanently, use the Suspend option as it should be the same on Mac. Some versions of CS had a transfer to another computer option that was replaced with the Suspend option.
  11. Download the repair manual for your camera here: Yashica MAT 124G Repair manual Its 7 pages showing the parts breakdown. Essential for disassembly type repairs. Use CRC Quick Dry Contact Cleaner to flush any part of the camera that is sticky/hard to turn CRC 11 oz. QD Electronic Cleaner-05103 - The Home Depot Available at many retailers. 90% Isopropyl Alcohol also works well for cleaning and is electrically safe if power is removed and not applied until the alcohol has dried. 12. I suggest you look at the negatives with a good loupe. There may be contaminates embedded in the emulsion from processing or a type of mold has sat in from storage.

  14. Hard for me to say what the exact cause is but the common ones are residue from cleaning or the materials gassing out and collecting on the inner surfaces. If its gassing out it will build up into a light to medium haze. I would start by cleaning the outer surfaces with a clean heavyweight microfiber lens cleaning cloth and my breath. Light weight lens cleaning cloths are worthless as are eyeglass cleaning cloths when it comes to camera lens. After cleaning the external surfaces consider having the lens serviced if they remain especially if they affect image quality.
  15. I have a Dell Ultra Sharp U2312HM about 4 years old now, maybe 5 years old. It is a very sharp monitor that delivers very fine detail. Calibrated with Windows 10 built in monitor calibration all sites and photos viewed on the web look correct, photos printed on Epson 2200 photo or XP-610 are off a few shades. When the Spyder 4 was still comparable with windows the calibration looked good on the web and photos printed were within a half shade of the monitor image. I got an X Rite i1 display pro and it produces a calibration that is very high contrast for web and most photos, newer updates in the software produced less crontrasty settings but still not correct. I have not used it in some time as I'm not doing any critical work or printing. The problem may be with the Dell XPS 8500 and video card, never took the time to work it out. The monitor looks as good today as it did out of the box. I do not do any gaming.
  16. Go to Products | sinar click on the Downloads on the support/downloads tab then select the instruction manuals then the p2/c2/f2/f1 manual as it will likely cover the setup you have. Its been years since I had a Sinar but the F and P series used the same rail and bellows clamps. The Sinar X was a composite of model standards if I remember correctly.
  17. http://www.cameramanuals.org/mamiya_pdf/mamiya_7ii.pdf See pages 8 and 9 of the linked manual if you don't have one. Is/are the battery/batteries installed correctly? Yes-install the battery/batteries and let sit in the off position for 24 hours. If the camera does not power on leave it in the ON position for another 12 hours. Still not working-have it serviced.
  18. The difference between a Graflex Knob wind and Lever wind is the ratcheting lever. Film advance is regulated by a notched cam. The film holder was geared for film thickness of the era it was made in, newer films are thinner and frames may touch or overlap. A dirty gear train can cause overlapping also. Item 22 is the cam, item 21 is the lever that locks the cam. You may find this thread of interest: Graflex.org :: View topic - Graphic Roll Film Holder update
  19. Remove, clean the mating surfaces, apply a trace of grease such as https://www.amazon.com/Finish-Line-Premium-Grease-Fluoropolymer/dp/B002L5YYYA/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1505625874&sr=8-2&keywords=teflon+grease where contact is made by the back to body and wedges. Wedges are tight enough when there is no side play or front to rear movement. A trace of grease is enough to feel it without seeing it.
  20. Same results as post 11. Why was I thinking the shipping price listed in the Order Form was sending cost not return shipping. Must drink at least one cup of coffee before posting in the morning.
  21. I too see blank lines until I click on the Order Forms tab and the type of processing I want. https://www.dwaynesphoto.com/common/newforms/BW_Developing_Prints.pdf Where is the return shipping fee?
  22. A trusted name in photo processing for over 50 years - Dwayne's Photo Photo Lab Film Developing | Develop Film by Mail for $11 - The Darkroom Both return the negatives! The Darkroom had labs in several areas when film was king and I used their lab in San Carlos, Ca. for Color developing, enlargements and B&W printing. I always got excellent results.
  23. Other possibilities are uneven wetting with developer and moisture condensation from going from a cold environment to a warm one.
  24. What were the drying conditions? It looks like uneven drying to me. Rewet evenly in the stabilizer then hang to dry in medium humidity environment.
