This Anasazi dwelling no doubt treated its long gone residents to many
a spectacular sunset. All comments and critiques are welcome.

You are quite right Marshall. It is called the 'Devils Kitchen'. I must have spent too much time under the desert sun and baked one too many neurons. :-0

Here is the image with almost all the vignetting removed and a slight curves tweak in Photoshop. Darkroom work, in the wet darkroom or the digital darkroom is 50% of the photographic process. Ansel Adams didn't just shoot chromes and drop them on a light table. His negatives were a starting point for the work he envisioned. Or in his own words 'shoot what you feel, not what you see'.

I think the color and tonalities are lovely here Jay. I do think that without the sun to hold your attention near the horizon you have a tad too much sky. IMO the composition would be perfect if you cropped about the top 25% of the sky out to tighten things up a bit.

Good composition,color & tonalities.
And last but not least, excellent timing.
Well done!

One of the prettiest arches in Utah.
It's located in an area known as Devil's Kitchen.
All critiques and comments are welcome.

Very nice light here Momo.
I might suggest lightening Balanced Rock a little to
make it look better on this dreaded PN white background. It probably looks just fine on a black background in Photoshop, but the bright white causes ones to shutdown and distorts shadow tones.

A lovely toning job with excellent light.

This image has some lovely tonalities and forms and is a fine shot.
I do think the composition could be tweeked and imporved by cropping a little debris and excess off the top.

Hi Jeff, nice to see some work from other Wyoming based photographers. You should post some of your other fine wildlife shots.

I really like the mood created by the color harmonies and composition in this shot. Well done!

Very,very cute.
I bet this model worked for peanuts!

I rather like Ken's variation of this classic location. Well done! In terms of the Zeiss versus Canon comment made above, get real. The effects of the warming polarizer in a shot like this will far outweigh the subtle differences that exist between Zeiss and Canon glass. I know, I've shot, Zeiss, Canon and Pentax glass side by side on cameras for over 30 years.

No the reflection is quite real. Here's a shot of my wife shooting as the alpine glow was just beginning.

This pool was very shallow, maybe 6 inches deep.
You can see a clump of grass on the right and some rocks showing through at the bottom. I kind of favor the natural look rather than using a polarizer to create a perfect reflection. I guess I've found the polarizers kill shade detail in shots like this.

Mt Assiniboine is 13 miles in from the nearest trailhead in the
Canadian Rockies. It is the Matterhorn of Canada. I tried to do it's
majestic beauty justice for those that couldn't be there. All comments
and insights are appreciated.

I like this the best of all your landscapes.
Even though it doesn't a classic forground, the wonderful tonalities and color harmony is quite lovely. Well done.
-
Ken this appears to be shot at String Lake, near the canoe launch area to be exact. Hope you had fun in the Tetons!
-
Wonderful mood, color harmony and execution here.
And of course great timing. Talk about a vastly under rated shot!!
-
Nice image here Ken. You have a very nice subtle mix of orange tonalities. I do feel the extreme right begins to fade out a bit. I suggest a slight right crop to make it stronger. Mama don't take my Kodachromes away.. please......
-
A nice composition of a classic location, but IMO the top half of the shot is a bit overexposed and the bottom a bit under exposed. You needed a little stronger ND filter or a little work in Photoshop to fix this.
-
I really like the subtle tonalities, textures and mood of this shot. I image a large print would be lovely if you could go back it shoot it with some sort of panorama or medium format camera.

Excellent light and very well placed composition.
A good cut above what passes for top draw landscape photography on PN, but really is only good.
Well done my friend!

Hamlet would be moved. Excellent conception, composition and technique.
Calf Creek Falls Abstract
in Nature

This was shot as an abstract. The lovely lines of the falls and the
swirls of the rock and algae forming more an impressionistic painting
than a traditional photo. All comments and ratings are welcome.
