Nice shot Jay. I've shot this barn from this angle in the winter with some success, but you've got better light and sky here. Very peacefull!

Of your recent posts, I like this image the best.
I love the way the foliage wraps and frames the flowing water and the small falls. The warm colors work well and the intensifying filter does it without photoshop. A purest approach. :-)
The only change I might suggest is a slight lightening of the foliage in the area on the ledge to the right of the falls. This would complete this visual wrap and make it stronger.
Well done!
Thanks for your comment on the latest foggy image.

Momo I ;ike this shot the best of your recent New Mexico series. Very nice composition, light & color.
I wouldn't change a thing.

Nice composition & good light here.
I might crop just a tiny bit more off the sky and see how it looks compared to this version.
-
Excellent light, composition, color & tonalities.
Well done!

I have reworked this shot to get the color and tonalities to
a point I was happy with. All comments and ratings are welcome.
Taken near the Hollaman AF stealth fighter base.

Absolutely wonderful light, tonality, color and composition on this shot. The only teeny tiny flaw might be a little overally dark area in the hillside on the upper left. The strip filter was perfect for the sky but maybe 1/2 stop too dark in that spot. You could easily dodge it a hair and this would be a perfect shot.
Well done!!

I feel like I'm walking into the land of the Ents when I view this shot. Well done!

Very nice light in this shot Jay!

Hi Leigh,
When I load this into Photoshop and view it on a black background I really like it. In web browser color space with the horrible white background slapping my eyes it looks a bit too flat. I've found I need to add 15-20 saturation units to a Photoshop file to get close on Photo.net. Maybe someday we will see a grey background from the elves.
Hope things are going photographically well down under. I just got my 5D and it really is a great little camera. Maybe next year Pentax will comeout with the promised digital 645!

Ten minutes before this was snapped the wind was blowing 10-15mph and it was raining lightly. The weather can change very quickly in Wyoming, especially 9000 feet up in the Beartooth Mountains.
Fifteen minutes after this it was raining again. The rain was then followed by a rainbow!

On a turbulent morning high in Wyomings Beartooth Mountains, light
momentarily triumphs over darkness.

Hi Piotr,
I like this the best of your Glacier shots.
A nice reflection is hard to get at this spot as it can be quite windy. If you get back to Glacier be sure at shoot sunrise at this overlook. The colors can be quite amazing at first light.

A very nice composition here Chris. If it where
mine I think I'd darken the sky and water for more drama. Well done..

Four images stitched together for a Panorama.
We had truly amazing pastel magenta predawn light this Saturday.
All comments and ratings are welcome.
Thanks...

Superb shot!

Thanks for the kind words Kurt.
For what its worth the 1DS image detail equals drum scanned 645 trannies up to 20"x28". Yes, I know its hard to believe but I'm not Michael Reichman and it's true! The tonality is way better than MF film. It looks more like 4x5 LF at that size. It's actually a little better than my Nikon LS8000 scans. With my Zeiss lenses the detail is amazing. The Canon 17-40 does okay when stopped down to F11-F13 in the 20-26mm range.
I'd like to get a Zeiss 21mm, but they're going for $4000 these days.
My Pentax 645N is now for backup and tilt/shift work only.

A very rare calm morning on Beartooth Lake & and some rapidly changing
weather produced some lovely reflections. All comments and ratings
are welcome.

A lovely composition with wonderful light, color and tonality. Well done.

Overall a nice shot. Tonality & color very nice and composition good. I might have moved the Heron a tiny bit more to right to have the wood intersect the lower right diagonal corner of the image. I do however realize that might have been impossible to do under real conditions.

I'm not a big fan of composites, but this is very well conceived and executed. Well done!

All I can say is congratulations Leigh its about time !
As to the people commenting on the lack intimacy, etc.
Landscape photographs made with MF or LF cameras should be viewed
at sizes of 16x20 inches or larger. Photo.net is a world of web wonders.
Leigh works to reveal stunning, detailed landscapes of infinite complexity and variation. The tiny snippet of a photo you see here
can only hint at the visual content you would experience in a big print.
Ansel Adams 'Moonrise at Hernandez' is arguably the finest B&W landscape print ever made. Viewed in a tiny box of pixels, people would wonder why anyone might feel that way. Viewed as a 24x30 inch print, its stunning.

Hi Leigh, I like this shot the best of your recent uploads. Nice composition and tonalities and a kind of unique chocolate earthtone look. I have only seen the colors you've caught here in certain US Southwest sandstones shot in the shade. Very nice.
More news on the Pentax 645..
