About 9 months ago I posted a few images of Maynard that I took at a local concert. Many
of you were very kind and even suggested I send the images to Maynard. Much to my
shock about 4 days after the post I learned that Maynard has passed away. I went ahead
and sent the images to his family and his agency none the less. Now this particular image
has been chosen to be on his last album cover. The album was released just this week
and I am so proud and honored to be part of his last project. He had just finished
recording the album 3 weeks before his death. In addition, I am selling limited edition
prints from my web site and donating money from each print to the Maynard Ferguson
Scholarship Fund. The image posted here is what is for sale. I'm not interested in ratings
for this post, however, I did want to say thank you to my friends in this community for
your honest and loving feedback with regard to this image. Never did I think it would lead
to the cover of my musical hero's last album. Thank you! Long live the boss!

Finally had a chance to visit my brother and sister in WA at a time when the Tulips were up!
Even the Hasselblad XPan format does not do the fields of flowers justice. Amazing.

How cute is this? Just checking back on your lovely body of work Ellen. You keep coming up with wonderful images. I need to get busy!

Well good grief if I had looked at the rest of your portfolio I'd have seen that you already did a pan crop! Sorry about that!
-
Yup, the bottom line is that it is STILL a fantastic image and yes it does glow! The more I look at it the more I love it...

A wonderful take on this wonderful place. I could not help but do a pan crop being a Hasselblad XPan Shooter... see what you think. I can't wait to see this place for myself and get to shoot it wide! A very nice body of work Julian.

While this is certianly a very well seen image and fine in an of itself I wonder if you took others at this location. Something like the one I have cropped from this attached? Not sure the top right black area on my crop works but you could have moved to get rid of it... simply suggesting another photo opportunity..

Shot using the Hasselblad XPan in vertical format. Converted to B&W in PS.

This is a very strong image David. I simply love the three bolders in the foreground. The whole thing just sings! Love it.

Fantastic! The only nit I have in this day of HDR is that the sky is quite bright arond the land mass in the distance. With HDR I think you could have created another take on this that might have been better. None the less the foreground on this is stunning and worthy of an image all by itself. Great portfolio David.

It always amazes me when a strong image like this gets no attention. This is wonderful Vassilis. I love the repeating pattern and the rythmn you have created here. Very well seen and captured.

A very nice composition. Great texture and light.

An alternate take to the same image this time using PS to do some color correction. V1 is
close to as shot on film.. this is without the color cast... I suspect some with like this better.
-
Once again you have done a masterful job of using the light that was available to you to create a very good image. Nice.

I had great fun with my XPan in the dunes!

It's all been said.. Great!

I'm with Anish... The grass in the lower left is troubling.. in this digital age clone it out!! What a stunning image! Oh and next time give it more room to breathe... it is very tightly cropped. I suspect you did this because of other things that crept into the frame when you backed out... none the less I would like to have seen a bit more space for teh one bird and the tree on the top right. Nits only here it's still a keeper!

I do like this image but the top 1/8 of it is really bothering me... it does not look right.. to dark compared to the rest of it and the blue is not right.... other than that it is a wonderful capture.

Don't you just hate it when you have a wonderful image from a wonderful place and not one comments on it? Hello, this is a wondeful take on the unusual Mono Lake landscape. Normally dawn or dusk creates the most dramatice scenes here but you have proven that one can make a very good image at any time of the day as long as you have the right elements in play and use them wisely. Gheesh that was a run on sentance... :) Really nice image Bill. I will be back at this wonderful place two time this year leading a photo tour.. can't wait!

A piece of this wonderful building. Again the Hasselblad XPan seems to add something
special to the image.
