Susan, Les is correct. I took four exposures allowing for a proper exposure of the sky and yellow foliage which was in sun and then the foreground which was in shade. I let Photomatix (software) blend the four images and then used their tonemapping software to work the blended image.

4 images combined using Photomatix software.

I like this image very much Hanna. The forst adds such a nice touch as does the subtle "S" curve of the one one leaf? on the left side... I feel like this one is a bit dark so I lightened it a bit in PS for an alternate take... what do you think? Oh I warmed it up just a bit too.

I teach my students... "when you see red, shoot it!"... you've done just that here a much more. Your composition is very nice and I love the simplicity. The feeling of this image is wonderful.
Nice job.

I wanted to leave a comment on your portfolio but cannot seem to find a way on yours... weird... so I'll do it here. A strong sense of composition, grace and color. I am inspiried by your paper creations! Excellent images.

As I don't photography people well I don't normally comment... but I could not resist on this one. What a wonderfully refreshing image of a lovely young lady. Look she is even beautiful with clothes on! What a novel concept! :) I like the simplicity, bold colors and of course now have a crush on the girl... :)

Really very beautiful! For what it's worth... hitting F11 on a MAC does not do what it does on a PC... :)

Well seen, well executed, and well..... great! :) I love the simplicity of this image. The contrast between teh gray and red... the almost monochromatic feel of this image... it all works very well.

It's interesting because I just did some of this stuff with some white sky and was not sure how I felt about the sky. I was feeling okay about it and this one confirms that I must go with my gut. I think white sky in these type of images works whereas in a "traditional" shot it does not.

How on earth did this one get overlooked? Fabulous! Love the texture along with the color.

Gotta love this one! Love the lines and rich color. Nice stuff!

My continuing effort to capture the essence of fall by painting with light...

I have walked this walk many times and have never seen this potential! Fabulous image! I'm a big fan of Freeman Patterson and Andre Gallant and love the sandwich technique and it is used well here.

I appreciate all comments positive and constructive. I agree and have already though of how I can do others in different areas adding color and different lines. I'll be out today doing just that! :)
