    Lensbaby Lily

Thank you for your feedback Kit and Chad... I did do some work closer up, however, with water lily's it is difficult with a lensbaby (essentially a 50mm lens) to get close! None the less I liked this composition as I felt it framed the sharp subject... I guess one could argue that it is material that is not needed or even necessary but I'm not convinced... My eye does not spend much time at the top but rather with the color and sharp area... so for me the extra information acts as a background a pallette if you will for the subject.. None the less I appreciate your perspective! Thanks!

I like this scene a lot! Almost monochromatic in its feel. The three people add just the right feel for perspective. Crisp and nicely done.
  1. This was shot on the road back from the Bristlecone Pine forest in Ca. As there was just to

much empty sky I decided to crop it off. It was a pretty amazing scene to behold. Not sure

I've captured the essence of it or not.

Thank you Ric and Dave. I always hate to decide myself if something is "fine art"... I felt like this might fit the category but I'll leave that up to the viewers..

Just terrific! I guess if I had one little itsy bitsy nit it would be the little hole on the right just above the column... my eye seems to want to go there to much... again NOT a big deal..
  2. As an XPan shooter myself I am always drawn to the format when I see one. This is a very strong image and very well done. Some might say it's cut in half but the tree placement it makes that a non-issue. Nice!
  3. The is as shot with the Hasselblad XPan and a 90mm lens. It is a panoramic camera capable

of getting to within 1.5 feet of the subject. The subject is an a Bristlecone Pine that is

approximately 3,000 years old. An amazing place.

Sorry but it looks like a polarizer was over used for the blue sky. WAY to dark blue for my taste. Other than that its a nice image of the wave.
  4. Your work gets better and better... love this even with the bright white... Normally I don't like "hot" spots but for some reason this one works. I love the trumpet player image too. Good stuff Ellen.
