    I bought myself a Zf, and FTZ II, my oldest friend gave me the 40 F2. the Zf is a good camera, compact and handy, but I find myself reaching for old F mount friends more often. However it turns out, Nikons, old and new have delivered fine photos for me since film days when the Viet Nam war wound down. I bought my first Nikon from the same friend who gave me the forty. I can't imagine I will be buying anything more unless it gives me some special capability that I currently lack. A stick in the mud.

    I kind of doubt it is paid advertising. With the large quantity I knock down nearly every day, I'd certainly be hearing from someone. A lot of it is phishing so it is in your best interest not to click on it.

    Don't know if there is something more current, but Nikon View Nx2 does a fine job back to my D2x. I have half a dozen Digital Nikons ranging up to the Zf.

    Long before Cell phones and digital I had a great deal of fun with these kinds of cameras. At the end of it, the limitations of the film size, despite the wonderful little camera drove me out of it. Between small digitals and cell phones available now, I'd guess for me, the appeal would be less today. Others on this site frequently display very good Minox photos, so it can be done. Enjoy!

    If you don't see spam you are fortunate. Something has changed, and again, first thing in the morning I see plenty and it takes an hour plus to knock it back. Do share what spam protection works for you.

    Possibly someone with a D70 can help. I haven't even handled one for 10 years.

    My recollection is that there is a way to switch it off shown in the menu. I do it with my newer Nikons. Might be wrong, but if you go to trouble shooting it could be there.

    Simple idea from days when I had less than ideal living conditions. A dish pan water bath for all solutions. For most development cycles, close enough.

    I sold some of these new back in the day. Good and capable cameras, but not a path I cared to follow. Unless there is some family / sentimental attachment, or a hoard of lenses, I would suggest either Canon or Nikon of the period which can be acquired affordably, and based on experience were more advanced.

    Wife and I were trying to get the tiny number off a piece of equipment. Reading glasses, illuminated magnifier were not adequate. Dug out the Nikon D810 with AF Micro Nikkor 105mm 1:2.8D. No problem. Her comment "The most expensive magnifying glass ever." Funny, but it worked perfectly..

    There was quite a lot, I had 22 reports in addition to un reported. There are a few more suspects hanging fire, we'll wait and see. I'll keep an eye on things.

    I can recall in High School as "Photo Editor" for the Yearbook using Dad's Leica M3 with "candlestick" Leica flash for some events. Fresh bulbs in the right sport jacket pocket, used in the left (No more than a dozen total!). #6 FP for focal plane shutter, and not small. Strange as it may seem, I still have a few sleeves of 5B & 6. No batteries I can find for the old Leica flash.
