  1. Does it make this sound with film loaded ? I don't remember my Mamiya 7 ( not 7 II ) making that sound , I sold it around a year ago , so I can't recheck it for you :( . Peter
  2. A couple from a recent walk around the hood . Burnaby is deep into a high rise boom these last few years ! Don't look forward to the traffic congestion about to follow :( . Taken with my Pentacon 6TL , 45 mm Mir lens and on some old Acros in HC110. Peter
  3. Love that first picture , and yes it's pretty darn wide :) . Peter
  4. Not too sure if you're familiar with the V600 , but after it does the initial scan you simply use the mouse and size the amount of negative you want the final scan to be , hence eliminating the darker section . Peter
  5. Did you use an umbrella for some of the lighting ? Peter
  6. I've done that on my Epson V 600 for years now , takes a few extra moments to align and you're off to scanning heaven . Possibly a bit exaggerated , but not by much ! Transparencies offer their own challenges (Newtonian something or anothers') . I could try and get some anti-newtonain ring glass , but ( I'm Scottish by descent :) ). Peter
  7. Maybe it means it was lent to him :) . Peter
  8. ^ Interesting , 5 years ago I had 4 YashicaMats ( how do you spell GAS ? ) . The only one I kept has the same Lumaxar lens . Frame counter needs work , but summers' here and motorcycle I must :) . Peter
  9. ^ Ahhhhh, loading the film holders , how many times did I get that pit in the stomach when reinserting the dark slide only to hear the crunch of film being folded :( .Learning from errors is a painful teacher . Peter
  10. ^ Love grave yard shots and this is on my lists of favs ! Peter
  11. It took me forever to find the Infra red pics , but here's one from my Mamiya 7 with the IR720 filter and shot at ISO 3 , ISO 6 was close but that IR glow ( or Wood effect ) was quite noticeably improved with the ISO 3 setting . Bright daylight and I still needed a tripod ! Peter
  12. ^ Thank you , looked kinda rugged for a house . Peter
  13. ^^^^ , I was in leathers and a heated vest and heated hand grips, plus scarf and crap, I was still cold ! I think I'll wait a month or so and try again , stay posted . Peter
  14. Should've been a clearer picture if I wasn't shaking so much from the cold :) . Peter
  15. Owning a few Kowa 6s and previously an S2 , I'd say that the Kowa is whisper compared to the clatter of an S2 ;). Peter
  16. ^^^ So what are you riding in that pic Bill ? Peter
  17. ^ That's a great photo Bill :) ! Peter
  18. I'd tried to get the "wood" effect by exposing at ISO 25 , then 12 and 6 , still no glow . This was all done during nice bright days , by ISO 3 , the effect was suddenly what I was hoping for . I didn't go any lower . I'll see if I can find the pics ( hard drive crash , means a lot of searching through old negatives . Peter ps; these iso sttings were taken with a little Sekonic Twinmate meter
  19. My experience with the Ilford in 120 format with the IR720 filter was to expose at ISO 3 . Anything higher and there was no "Wood Effect " ( that lovely glow to people and trees) . Peter
  20. Tom , I'm curious about your answer , you mention using Xylene to separate the lens bonded with Canadian balsam , and then later you mentioned using boiling water . Are they both effective at freeing up Canadian balsam bonded lens ? Peter
