  1. I've considered an ae-111 for my Etrs , but the price was always high . However , I really miss an in camera light meter ( for travel , I use transparency , Provia 100f ) and was wondering about how well they work ? Could you mention the selling price of the one you got ? Peter
  2. ^ I think you're going to be disappointed . He hasn't been seen for 1/2 a decade:) . Peter
  3. I guess you missed the part about "the great white north " , here in Vancouver , B.C Tri-x in 120 is $14.00 a roll ! And it costs damn near $6.00 to park to go in and get your film developed ( for you can't imagine how much ) ! I know you're just bragging about how inexpensive it is down below us . The point is , it's not loose change here to use a roll for test purposes . You know that after a while the purchase price of the camera is almost free after a few years of shooting film , up here for sure . Peter
  4. I should add , that here in the great white north , a roll of cheap film and developing ( with taxes ) is pennies away from $25.00 . So I hope any and all problems are shown on your first roll .
  5. ^ Is "cheeseparing" the same as "cheap-skating" ? Peter
  6. ^^ I'm kinda curious how you would reuse a test film ? Peter
  7. ^ That sky just grabs my eyeballs :) . Peter
  8. The better you get at DIY , the happier you get , after all , isn't printing at home DIY ? Peter
  9. Last ride of the year , 7 degrees celcius ( but sunny :) ) .I can't make it past this old Ford without stopping for a picture . Along the Sea to Sky Hwy , near Shannon Falls , B.C . Bronica Etrsi ,75mm on Ilford Pan F+ , Hc-110 . Peter
  10. ^^ Judging by the cylinder head bolts and cylinder base fasteners I'd say that shovelhead has a big bore kit ! Great photo .
  11. ^^ In B.C , when you turn your plates in (for the season) they stop the automatic bank withdrawal that is part of our provincial vehicle insurance program . Back in response #26 is the bike I've been riding this year . Peter
  12. ^ I'm envious ,( I turned my plates in today ) . Peter
  13. I sure could have used that fairing today ! Rode up the Sea To Sky Hwy today in 7 degree celcius temp and not even a windshield :( . Peter
  14. A piece of glass cut to fit and covered with some Scotch tape (on the lens side) should allow you to easily check focus ( handier with a small loupe or magnifying glass ) . Peter
  15. I'm going to want one just so I can tinker with it :) . The Z , Bronica patch looks great , thanks for posting ! Peter
  16. That's quite the undertaking , think I'll bookmark it for future references . Thanks ! Peter
  17. This is an idea of how far you have to go to just get at the mechanism ( on the lower right hand side of the above pic) . The real challenge is getting at the blades inside this assembly . Approach with caution :) . Peter
  18. There is usually a glued on tab further inside that frequently comes loose , I've found no problem in removing it completely . Getting into the aperture blades is not for the weak of determination . I'll see if I have a pic or two to give you some idea of what you'll see . Peter
  19. I have only the 55 & 150 silver lens , both of those require the front element be removed before front lens. By that I mean there is a ring with 2 notches ( or grooves ) for the spanner that unscrews the front lens element . After that you will notice that another group will need removal to go any further . What is it that makes you want to go into the lens ? The shutter mechanism is a bit of a challenge :) . That's an understatement if you don't have any experience with these type of shutters . Peter
  20. Joe , you just listed every reason I only (well almost always) use film :) . I couldn't have envisioned a better list . It kinda puts a smile on my face ! Thanks , Peter
  21. So I see where it is now , but I'm not too sure yet what it is ? Peter
