Hi Derrick
Keep at it because you really show promise. If you can get hold of some sort of editing software you will be amazed at what you can achieve. I would, for instance, straighten the horizon as well as adjusting the contrast. The main thing is that you have some fun! Best regards Louise

This Goshawk flew in and out of my garden so quickly yesterday I
barely had time to grab my camera. It was a cold bleak day and the
background is just awful. I tried all sorts of things in PS to improve the
background to no avail. Maybe someone here can help? Thanks for
looking Louise

Hi Martin, lovely shot of this butterfly, I love the dof and the match of the insects colors to the lantana. Very nice shot. regards Louise

Hi Pat, what a stunning composition. I love that you haven't cropped to just the bird as we are so often tempted to do. The picture as a whole is superb. the array of blue's offset by the birds white is really lovely. Kind regards Louise

Hi Jamie, what a spooky scene. A very moody shot, lowering clouds, lonely road, isolated cow...just waiting for the Hound of the Baskerville to appear! I really like the composition and lighting here. Best regards Louise

Hi Irene and welcom to the critique request forum! I have to agree with the first comment that the bird in the background detracts for me. Viewed larger the bird in focus is terrific. I'm not sure what the original was like and if you could have cropped the blurred bird out without ruining the image. It certainly is interesting though. Look forward to seeing more of your images. Regards Louise

Hi Charles, viewed larger this is a really sharp image. I hope this bird is taking advantage of the nesting box? Best regards Louise

Hi Judi, mmmm ugly bird, but a really nice capture. Birds are so exsasperating...I'm always chasing them around somewhere. You've done well to get this really nice shot. I do agree somewhat that you could maybe lose some of the blue sky, but I still really like thi pic. best regards Louise

Great action shot, well done. Regards Louise

Hi Charles, I must admit I also prefer the sencond rendering. I very interesting shot. I used to think these sorts of wading birds lived on little fish/worms etc. Since joining PN and seeing shots like this I have come to realise just how varied their diet is and that they are quite ruthless hunters. A great capture with great detail on "dinner" I see what you mean about those little hands. argh...Regards Louise
