MICK, PATSY, GRIGORIY & LOUISE. Many thanks for stopping by and for your feedback. If anyone has the time I would be really interested to know if this is an improvement or not of my original wildflowers photo, which is located in my Flower Garden 2011 folder.

Best wishes. Sarah.

the colours and the softness are wonderful. best, jamie

p.s.: i think erasing the stems is too extreme, but it looks good, at first at least.

Thanks Jamie! I don't mind critiquing my own photos and in conclusion although the composition is probably more correct - for me it lacks a bit of wildflower soul, compared to my original one. If that makes sense! All the best. Sarah.

A step in the wrong direction in my opinion. While I am not opposed to removing an errant stem or leaf to add strength to a composition in this case removing the upper leaves removes the sense of depth in the original version and flattens the scene rendering it more two dimensional. On the heels of that flatness comes a certain loss of vitality or   "wildflower soul" as you.

OH Wow !! What a great composition. Simple, duel flowers that produce a eye catching composition. The use of greens only in the background just makes your image that much stronger. Simply Outstanding.

Hi Gordon. Many thanks for taking the time to view both images and for eloquently putting into words how I feel about this image. It's also helpful advice for others should they view both images. Best wishes. Sarah.

Joel. Thanks for your visit and for taking the time to comment. Best wishes. Sarah.

I like this version best .........of  course I had to say that : - )  But you have done a great job of re-working it, and although I like the orginal and appreciate the sense of depth the errant stem allows, I'd still vote for this one.......I think : - )

Best Regards

Thanks Alf. I have to say that a lot of people liked your preferred version! It's sometimes great to get a comparison though, thanks as always for your helpful insights and advice. I am going on a landscape photography day at Stourhead House & gardens on Wednesday, which should be fun and a good way to learn more about Landscape photography! Will post some of the results of the day - hopefully it won't be raining! All the best. Sarah.

SO very delicate. I like the gentle curve to the right of the flowers and leaves, Tones are also very complimentary.
