  1. Not sure if I am rating more the image or narrative. Maybe they are one and the same. Brilliant work, George.

It appears my comment didn't transmit. I said, "One of your best portraits and you have many great portraits." It is the toning and your array of tonal values that make this exceptional.
  3. Well thought-out composition.

Exquisite light. Powerful design. Brilliant work, Liaojannan.
  8. I am "floored" by the amount of effort it takes to arrive at so many profiles. There seems not to be a limit to mastery.

Thanks, Pierre. The glass/crystal in this scene sparked the memory.
  13. Thanks, Pierre. I saw something mysterious about this scene too. It made me search for reason.

I forget. I was using a zoom lens at the time but I was in a gondola not too far away. In all honesty the situation was so magical to me I am not sure what I was doing.

Thanks, Pierre. You hit on the essence of this image. Circulating so much white allows the mind to choose how it intermingles objects and space and feels order or disorder. Sometimes hues dominate the composition. Sometimes verticals, horizontals, diagonals or shapes dominate. The state of consciousness at the time of viewing decides.
  21. Rates very high for sentiment.
  22. Punta della Dogana As seen from San Marco sestiere that triangular piece of Venice where the Grand Canal meets the Giudecca Canal and where, dedicated to the Virgin Mary, stands the Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute.
