    looking back.jpg

Looking back unter den linden (under the linden trees) from Schlossbrücke bridge - Berlin, Germany. Because there are so many structures in Berlin with bullet pockmarks, there is the strange sensation of looking back to a past that is somehow still present.

    ascension.jpg

Ascension (Saints Peter and Paul Church, Transamerica Pyramid, Sales Force Tower.) Throughout history mankind’s spiritual aspirations and need to touch the divine have manifested in architecture as steeples, pyramids and the like. Where more fitting to find these symbols than in a city like San Francisco named after Giovanni di Pietro di Bernardone (Francis of Assisi).

I had better comment before I am booted off this site. Your work is reminiscent of Nan Goldin but more creative and innovative. Your work verges on the intimate without seeming intrusive or exploitative. Excellent work, Kellyrae.
  12. The light is magical, the "puddle" of water anchors the magic and the slither of light upper right half is an artist's brilliance. Excellent work, John.

Thanks. A frustrated water colorist with more success digitally than with a brush. Not in the Bay Area but visit.
  15. Seems always your hues and tonal values unify the seemingly disparate elements. It aids the mind connect. Excellent work, George. I have been censored and must leave this site soon. I am not sure exactly how the moderator will delete my account but I suspect I will still be able to enter the site as a visitor but not comment. I have probably said in ways before, George, your artistic talent, skills and creativity are masterful and merit memorializing in the finest galleries and museums. You do the world a service by sharing your creations.

Beautiful in its clarity, depth-of-field and straight-forward presentation.

    accepting

Exceptional clarity. There is a lot to be said about a high f/stop.
  21. The path to Hell’s Kitchen (Hudson Yards Manhattan) (I think my processing of this scene was influenced by the master of the oblique, Dumas.) Of the many stories of how this area in New York got its name I like best the story of a rookie cop who said, "This place is hell itself", to which the more senior cop replied, "Hell's a mild climate. This is Hell's Kitchen.”
