The troll, Sofus Lotus, by the artist Thomas Dambo. The artist says Sofus Lotus pays attention to the little things and was the first one to notice something was wrong with the world. Nature was changing its rhythm and ways for the worse. Sofus uses his ears to listen to every crackle, thud and buzz. He feels nature and is mindful of all its beings.

If you and a fool have an argument he succeeds – African proverb The difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits. - Albert Einstein I remember my first BLT sandwich. After my first bite, I asked my grandma, “What else are you all hiding from me.” As kids we think that adults know a lot of important, factual things we don’t know yet. I confess it has followed me into adulthood – that many others (more mature, more learned, wiser) know a lot more about this world than me. Thankfully that notion was shattered upon the election of Donald J. Trump as president. Even my simple brain recognizes a fool and idiot when it sees one.

Home alone (The lone human figure was introduced for the sake of narrative) “The only Zen you find on tops of mountains is the Zen you bring there.” ― Robert M. Pirsig Looking at places like the Schloss Schönbühel castle along the Danube you can’t help but wonder what it would be like to live there.

“I do not believe in race as such. Race is a fraud. All modern people are the conglomeration of so many ethnic mixtures that no pure race remains” – Albert Einstein It was my first visit to San Francisco when I first heard the term “Californiaitis” – a condition of infatuation with the place brought on by a comforting climate, beautiful scenery, and beautiful people of many nationalities and races. Because of the diversity there felt not to be the same level of bigotry and racism present in other parts of the US. This may have been my imagination but the climate and scenery were definitely real.
