  1. Great art is great art.
  2. Uniquely creative. Minimalist, yet not. The contrast and hues make this pop. Excellent work, Pierre.

“I don’t think existence wants you to be serious…I have not seen a serious bird…a serious sunrise…We may not understand it, but there is a subtle feeling that the whole existence is a celebration.” - Rajneesh

    Sea Cliff.jpg

“If your neighbor has wind chimes, you have wind chimes.” – Nitya Prakash In this residential area of San Francisco (Sea Cliff) where one waterfront house recently (2024) sold for over $6 million, the neighbors share an intimate existence with the pacific ocean… and each other.

  10. Thanks, Pierre. Relative to native Hawaiian flora, Polynesians may have been invasive and to native Hawaiians, British and American colonization may fit the definition.
Your design and closeness of the tonal values make this special. Well done.

The composition and what is and is not in perfect clarity make this special. Excellent work, Dave.

The background makes fabulous the portrait.
  13. I looked back to some images to find where I tried to describe that remarkable Dumas effect: I think you have seen my appreciation of your use of perspective – placement of vanishing points, receding lines, parallax lines, use of the oblique, etc. And that is what I admire. But it is more so that some of your images combine them in unique ways that legitimize their reality and elevate the image beyond the forced perspective tyranny of the camera lens. Par example: Van Gogh’s Bedroom at Arles and Stairway At Auvers.
  14. Had not noticed this one, Pierre. It does not feel to have that unique Dumas parallax and tilt that I find magical.

    The beggar

Soon there is to be a new privileged class - those who have been photographed by Pierre Dumas. You truly have a unique talent in this genre.
  16. Invasive species: 1) non-native (or alien) to the ecosystem under consideration and, 2) whose introduction causes or is likely to cause economic or environmental harm.

  18. There is no explaining masterworks. I just note the close and unifying hues are magically employed here. Brilliant work, George.

Very skillfully framed. The unifying hues and texture make this special.

    Kepuhi Point.jpg

Thanks, Pierre. One of those images I thought captured the spirit of the place and me at the time.
Not sure I can adequately express why this is so good - the soft effect, the slightly muted hues, the brilliant composition leading the eyes. Masterfully done, Shafique.

Thanks, Pierre. I am trying to use my art to help me understand this zen way of "seeing/being".

Thanks, Pierre. Another image where the quote inspired the image.
