    Teen-ager

A nice idea, but the skin tone is odd, and it seems to be back-focused. I do like the sort of off-hand expression.

    Iris

    Very pleasant and unpretentious.
  3. The OM-2n is a wonderful camera--so light, great lenses (which work nicely on my Fuji digital).

Looks like one of them gol-durned flyin' hieroglyphs! However did you get her to pose?
  5. That's a fun teardown, and reminds me of the time I took my F100 apart (successfully), but the mirror cell is not mentioned, nor can I find it in the images. A note: Google did find this for me previously, but no soap on the RGB sensor.
  6. Hello all! Does anyone know the physical location of the RGB sensor/meter cell on a D600/610? Is it in the prism housing or the mirror box? No, I am not taking the camera apart; it's just curiosity, and in this case, Google has not been my friend. Les

Very good use of negative space on this. Just enough mystery going on to make me wonder.
  8. What in the name of That Which Flaps is going on here?
  9. Rodeo pretty much named all of the possibilities I'd thought of. There's a tear-apart diagram somewhere on the Internet (may be for a 9000, but the hardware is the same). His note on dirt and lube is the first thing I'd check as well. Changing the cable is also a good starting place. If your current 1394 card has worked well in the past, I doubt it's the problem.
  10. Hello! Seems there is no such thing as a relatively inexpensive L-Bracket for these cameras. I understand one was made in the past, but is no longer available. I just need a basic bracket that is Arca-Swiss compatible, and will hold the weight of my camera with (at most) the 150mm. Does anyone know if such a thing exists at a reasonable price? Thanks, Les
  11. Of course it's the camera. Nothing else could be possible.
  12. Who is Siggy? Is that the guy that married Tammy? (Sorry.)

I like the softness and detail, and his expression says a good deal. I wish there were a little more space at the top, and once I noticed the disappearing left ear, it bothered me a little, but all in all a very nice portrait.

Looks like you managed some eye contact here--one of your better ones.

    Fungus

Very nice, delicate Funguspicture. Have you tried it in b/w?

    admiring heart shape...

John: You obviously have a great location to shoot, with lots of beautiful subjects. Time to say something more than "Look at her great body!" Try to find the emotional context; tell us about the women you are shooting with your long lens.

    Lavender Pond Farm

Pretty location, but the view is not as interesting as it might be, and the blown highlights are distracting.
  18. In 1969, the tiny radio station I worked/volunteered at had an AP telex machine. If we didn't have time to prepare a news report, we'd just grab the wire printout and go live. We called it "Rip-And-Read News".
  19. Just to add a note. When I got the new screen, I carefully made sure to re-use the OEM shims. It worked perfectly. The least Nikon should have done is to replace those shims.
  20. They were supposed to fix the camera--they didn't. The mirror box was replaced, but the screen was not adjusted properly.
  21. True enough, but the OEM screens are shimmed as well, and as I said, when I installed the modified screen, it worked precisely. They also said nothing, AFAICT, about this in their report on my repair.
