  1. Interesting selection, only a few of which I'd seen previously. Wish they'd put a bit more effort into finding the names of photographers.
  2. According to every lens compatibility chart I looked at, F100 CAN use AF-G/S lenses. Am I somehow wrong?
  3. I assume you are all referring to the essential oil of bitter almonds?
  4. AF-S lenses should work correctly on an F100. See various compatibility charts.
  5. Agree. The EVF in my "primitive" X-E1 nails focus for me every time, even at f1.2. It has what is considered lousy focus peeking (sic), but I can still get the near eye almost every time.

    It's the freckles. :)
  7. I've adjusted the diopter, and that's not the problem. I'll spend a little time today checking that as carefully as possible, but I don't think it will have any effect. I DO use Live View when possible, but most of the time I have to use the screen (with MF, of course).
  8. I have been shooting with some of my MF Nikkors lately, mostly on my D600. I'm not happy with the focus accuracy. The "green dot" is okay, but a pain to use, at least for me. Today, I went out with the F3 HP, and the difference was huge. Even without the split-prism, I could get focus quickly and accurately, by which I mean that if I focused with the matte screen, it agreed perfectly with the split-image. (Lenses used were the 105 f2.5 AI and the 180 f2.8 AI.) I have now decided to order one of the Chinese-modified FM3 screens for the D600. I'd appreciate hearing any opinion on these, including warnings about installation problems, calibration (if needed) etc. Thanks to all, Les

Damn, that's sexy. The power strip, I mean. All white and gleaming. And the way the black cord and the white cord come together. Hot. :)
  10. No. The "commented" is not posted on my portfolio, or any of my photos. It is a follow-up to a comment I made on someone else's photo. Could somebody just fix this? And could someone make the damn back button work like a back button, and not take me to the next page? Or am I just shouting into an empty room?

    MURAL

Okay, I see the brick wall. Now, where's the cat?

    perfectly made-up

Yes indeed, have a nice roll in the manure.

    Tucupi's sale

Very good use of the wide-angle view. Things are a little cluttered, and the background is too bright, IMO.

    Madam Madalena

This is a very well-lit and expressive portrait. Only suggestion I would have is to diminish the folds of the eyes.

    double face

Fascinating image, and the b/w is an excellent choice. Wonderful how sharp and bright the reflection is.

    Terracotta curve

    Excellent--definitely deserves POTW.

She's definitely "all that", by which I mean she's doing a great job for you. Lighting is good, with maybe a bit of shine on the face. The "pull down the dress" thing is a bit of a cliche, but she does it perfectly. The rightward lean bothers me, though.

    portrait

Nice attitude from the subject, clean look to the image. Someone will point out the cut-off hand, but it doesn't bother me. I would, however, crop some off the right side.

    Linn Merita

Nice smile, and good cropping. It's a little out of focus, and the lip color needs a fix.
  20. Thanks. If this is true, it is a Good Thing.
  21. Today, I came across this thread in the Medium Format forum. It apparently began in February, 2011, and was recently picked up and added to. However, at least for me, pages 2 & 3 (of four) have no content. When I try to view posts on those pages, I just get the header portion, and nothing else. I have also found this with a number of other threads, for which I have no URL at the moment.
