  1. Hi PuntaColorada, I am curious about your photo. I took some firework photos and got very similar results. Did you take the shot on a tripod but leave the lens Image Stabilization switched on? The curly bits of of the burning bits all have similar tracks. Personally I like it.
  2. Why should they not? They may not support any warranty but if the camera is in need of repair and they can get paid for it, then I see no reason for them not to accept the business.
  3. I don't use ACDsee but in other similar programs I would 'save as' and use the same name. Otherwise I would go along with renaming it and subsequently go to the folder where the files are stored and delete the unwanted edit and rename the latest one.
  4. I very much liked your idea Gerald to cut out the centre that I had to have a go myself. I also liked Bill's enhancements so I have combined the two and added back the large tree as it caused a shadow in the sea.
  5. Select oval in centre with 100 feather, invert selection and use levels to darken surrounding area. Finally use shadows & highlights in PS to darken sky, then crop.
  6. I had an Epson ink jet several years back and could not get along with it (replaced heads did not improve matters). I now have two Canon ink jets ( an A3 for my photos etc and a simple scanner/copier/ A4 printer for everyday use ) and they are just perfect for my needs.
  7. In PS corrected perspective and used Highlights & Shadows to even out exposure. This is what i would normally do to a shot like this. However in my next example I have done the complete opposite.
  8. The only thing that I can think of is moisture in the lens that freezes at Zero Celsius. Try putting the lens(es) in a very dry environment for a few days.
  9. Thanks to all who have given advice on why I can not get PixelMagic to work on my W10 PC using CS2. I did contact the supplier but only got an automated reply pointing to their help FAQs. There was a near example of my problem (see above) but none actually helped. I have even tried PixelMagic on Photoshop CS4, albeit running in a very old XP PC, and although it loaded OK when I tied it, it crashed Photoshop! It must be me and the way I run my PCs. Any further advice would be greatly appreciated.
  10. What I would like to know is what are the 'services' that CS2 is lacking.
  11. I have tried to install the Pixel Genius on another PC running CS2 but using Windows 7 pro 64bit and again I get the same result saying that my version of Photoshop is not suitable. I have tried uninstalling and rebooting to no avail. I can only assume that my version of CS2 is not suitable, possibly because it was the version given away free by Adobe to previous users of Photoshop.
  12. OK, so although my PC is a W10 64bit my CS2 Photoshop version seems to be only 32bits!? I loaded the 'Pixel Toolbox' version 32bit into the Plug-Ins, restarted Photoshop and got the correct window in 'Automate'. However when I tried it out all I got was a window saying my version of Photoshop is not supported!? Can anyone help?
  13. Does this set of Plugins work with CS2? I successfully downloaded the 64bit PC version into my W10 PC. Put the folder into Plug-Ins folder OK and restarted Photoshop but could not find the link in the Automate window. I went to Photoshop preferences and added the Pixel Genius Toolbox to the 'Additional Plug-Ins' box, restarted Photoshop and still the link did not show in the Automate window. The attached screen shots show the Plug-ins preferences window (below) and the the Automate window (above) having restarted Photoshop.
  14. What you have described is basically what I use. I don't have a macro lens but use extension tubes on my 50mm plastic fantastic. I have made up my own light box using a large array of white light LEDs (this did concern me for a while as I was not sure is the LED spectrum was truly smooth, but it seems OK) I scattered the light using tracing paper or similar. I use a table top heavy weight tripod, and most important of all a cable release. I auto focus using the single centre point and stop down to f8. I don't use glass clamping as this introduces too much dust etc. Good luck with your shooting.
  15. As rodeo-joe says it looks to me like processing streaks. You could easily check this by scanning at right angles, although you may have to cut the negs to do this. These images were increased in contrast to amplify the defect.
  16. A couple of questions; what version of Photoshop are you using, on a PC or a Mac? And secondly, can you find the file in the folder you were using, assuming you saved your project as you were working on it?
  17. It is not clear how this scene was when taken but with some tweeks in photoshop this is what can be achieved.
  18. For a number years now I have been using Photoshop and the automated Contact Sheet feature. There are several options with or without captions. I have done several montages for thank you cards and the like. I usually use the No captions and no flattening. This gives me the option to move the images about and change the size and or blend the individual images.
  19. Yes, I had an old Canon ink jet that used to print with the wrong colours if I had not used it for a while. It never gave as bad a result as your sample shows for the nozzle check. I had a lot of trouble with the ink drying out and had to do lots of head cleans to get it OK. My conclusion about the wrong colours was that the 'home' pad where the head rests when not in use was saturated with ink and the waste sump full such that wasted ink soaked back up the resting ink jets! With the head out of the way I used to try and soak up the excess ink from the 'home' pad using a kitchen paper towel. This had limited results.
  20. Lovely photo, mostly OK except that the horizon is not level. Just a few tweeks of the level and slight reduction of the saturation.
  21. I use an old version of Photoshop CS2 and one feature that I use is called Shadows/Highlights. You can find it under Image-Adjustments-Shadows/Highlights. I use it a lot on my jpg images.
