    man about town

I'm three years late, but still want to say it: gorgeous.
  2. I sometimes post my experiments. This is one. The tech challenge was the extreme dynamic range. One cat is almost black, the other is bright white. So I decided to try HDR. Never tried it for animals before. Of course they had to be so fast asleep that th

    Trift Bridge

My comments to the photo seem to run off the screen (at least mine) so I'll repeat. This was half photo, half illustrator tools to create the basis for a book cover. For the full story behind the creation of the cover, please see https://blog.staadecker.com/2018/03/07/how-to-build-a-fictional-bridge/

    The Wallace tower

Love the lighting, the mood of foreboding and evil, the use of the swirling clouds and birds. Congratulations. Cheers, Peter.
  8. David, I had a screen of random photos pop up and this was the only one I wanted to look at more closely. I should have known it would be one of yours. Inventive as always. I particularly like the doves in the background. Cheers, Peter.

    Sunset

Lovely work, Stephen. Absolutely lovely. Regards, Peter.
  13. Giangiorgio, this is super. Not only the flamingoes, but the bands of light and shadow from the hills, and the lines of rolling hills. This is somehow reminiscent of an Japanese ink sketch - by a master, of course. Lovely work. Regards, Peter.

    Tiny Insect

Hi Gail, I'm impressed that you were able to do this hand-held. That's amazing. You must have a rock-steady grip and/or a good flash. I notice in the comments you mention wanting to figure out focus-stacking. It's not hard. If you have Photoshop and want details, give me a shout. Regards, Peter.

Chris - many thanks for taking time to comment. Appreciate hearing from you. I've been away from photo.net for many months. Format seems to have changed and I seem to see less chat from old familiar names than before. Is it my imagination or are you finding the same? Peter.

Vjacheslav - a very unusual and eye-catching view. For me, the birds make it. Well done. Best wishes - Peter.
