Sidsel - This is beautiful. One thought: The colours throughout this photo are very muted - almost b&w or sepia. The exception is the shirt where the colours jump out. Did you consider muting the shirt colours to keep the focus on the child? Regardless, it's a truly lovely portrait. Congratulations. Best wishes, Peter.

A big thank-you to all who commented. Many of those who commented are photographers whose work I already follow - great to hear from you. Some of those who commented are new to me - I look forward to using this as an intro and reason to discover your portfolios. A special word for Jeff - Jeff thanks for giving this one your vote. It's not a slam-dunk, at least not to me, but appreciate your vote. Best wishes to all. Peter.

Vjacheslav - Thanks for the comment. Interesting that you prefer the smaller format. I'd be interested to find out more about why. If you have the time take a look at an updated larger format at http://www.staadecker.com/?image=31 In my opinion it's better than the version I first posted on PN. I'd be interested to get your view. By the way, I like your tiger portrait. Excellent. Best regards, Peter.

Vjacheslav - This image grabbed me - hard to stop looking. I think it's because it breaks the usual rules in such a successful way. Normally the eye would be the best lit and clearest point of focus. Here it's the mouth. The eye is almost in shadow, but that's where I still want to look. Maybe my analysis is way off. Either way, I like it. Sorry to hear about the 10x10 meter enclosure. That's worrying. Best regards, Peter.
