  1. I like the F2 as the ultimate mechanical SLR ever, and the F3 as the best electronic SLR ever. Both are superb cameras. Agree highly about the F4 and F5.
  2. Agree highly. Never had a problem with either issue. And the F2 was a design improvement.
  3. I took my Olympus 35 RC out to Kingston, TN last Saturday. Adaptive Water-Ski event with an organization I am a member athlete of. Didn't get to Sit-Ski, (partially torn left Achilles tendon and cracked left shin bone). Had lunch with my friends, and shot a roll of Kodak ColorPlus 200, should get scans as early as tomorrow from the lab, so I can post some here. Had a blast.
  4. Seconded highly. The Pentacon 135mm 2.8 is a great choice for a Praktica in M42 screw mount.
  5. But Nikon didn't built the Nikkorex. It was built for Nippon Kogaku Tokyo, by Mamiya.
  6. And I now own a Luna Pro of my very own. Just bought it.
  7. That Konica Auto S 1.6 is a nice camera. I will be shooting with my Olympus 35 RC. My Fed 5B has shutter issues. I have Kodak ColorPlus 200 in my Olympus 35 RC.
  8. I disliked APS, too expensive compared to 35 mm.
  9. I have a Luna Pro on it's way to me. Look forward to using one, I've always wanted one since my first serious camera.
  10. This film would be well worth reviving. I liked it a lot. Excellent tonality. I'd even settle for having BW400CN back.
  11. A note: My photography tagline is "The Spastic Image". The late, great Dean Stone of Maryville-Alcoa Daily Times fame gave me that tagline. As I deal with Cerebral Palsy, and muscles with a mind of their own. He told me, this reflects the obstacles you must overcome, to get steady enough to get an image which satisfies you. I use improvised obstacles, and a zen like approach to harnessing my legs to be quiet enough to get a photo. Sometimes, I get lucky and get what I want.
  12. I really miss good old Verichrome Pan, and that would be lovely to revive in 35 mm and 120 roll film.
  13. Yes, zone focusing is just that. Does work better from f8 through the smaller f stops.
  14. Agreed about that. Beautiful photography, enjoyed seeing these images.
  15. Mike, I have a roll of C41 (Fuji Superia 400) at the lab for processing and scanning. It's at F32 Photo in Knoxville. Maiden roll on a new to me Fed 5B with Industar 50 2.8. And action instead of landscapes, to shake things up. Had fun. Went climbing in a Wellman Harness in the gym.
  16. Agreed. Used a Gossen Pilot 2 with my Fed 5b. The two go together just fine. Ran my first roll of Fujicolor 400 Superia through it and it's at the lab being processed and scanned. I love the images you get from your Fed.
  17. Agree about Plus-X and Panatomic-X needing revival. Plus-X was a favorite of mine. If Ilford can do old school Black & White and Delta versions of their range, so can Kodak.
  18. How do you like your Jupiter 8? How does it compare to the Industar lens? I am about to own my first FSU camera, a Fed 5v. Thanks, Kent.
  19. I think of this one as a Screw Mount Leica Visoflex a la Fed. Differences in flange to film distance. Quirky, Russian as can be. I have a soft spot for quirky European cameras, including FSU cameras.
  20. Thank you so very much. Explains the inner workings of these cameras so well. Makes me less afraid to get one and enjoy!!!
  21. I feel like my Olympus 35RC is a superior camera in normal daily use. Better more elegant ergonomics, and has a proper rangefinder. A good street shooter.
  22. Beautiful work on those cameras. Awesome job on that Leica Standard.
  23. This weekend Kent goes Russian. He has a Fed 5-V on the way. Industar nifty 50/F2.8, Fujicolor Superia 400 awaits. VladCam's getting a test roll ran through it.
  24. Polka, we call this "Close Enough For Negative Film"
