  1. Yes consumes quite a bit of power even when camera is switched off. Turned it off on my 7D MkII
  2. The only reason I scanned that high a resoloution NEW SANNER (at that time). Arseing about out of pure curosity to see exactly what would happen. Need to or want to use it, even recomending it ? NO ! BTW I never use anything over 100 ISO.. Have tripods. Even my digitals remain at 100. Sports and wildlife the only exeptions.
  3. I have two sets of those, not Newer branded but exactly the same thing THEY WORK FINE. I have two sets so I can run the two triggers on two cameras Same frequency. So no need to change them over.
  4. Dont know. I did shoot a while back a shot across the river Lagan in Belfast Bronica SQA, with 50mm WA lens ( 28mm equivilent ). I scanned the negative at the max reloloution about 150 MP ( 6X7 will scan about 200 MP ) BTW on Iso 100 Kodak Ektar. You could clearly read the street name signs on the Custom house side tho VERY SLIGHTLY BLURRED from the littlest amount of camera shake exegarated due to the vast distance. DECENT STURDY TRIPOD USED These street name SIGNS WERE QUITE A DISTANCE AWAY ( Street name signs not the larger font road traffic signs ) and remember a Wide Angle lens. Viewed on Gimp @ 100%. Nothing at all wrong with the resoloution of medium format film. 50 / 60 Mp digitals suffer the very same SLIGHT CAMERA SHAKE ISSUES a tripod really needs used with these high res digital cameras. The shot discussed here. Lower resoloution obviously. Higher res scanned version would not load FUNNY THAT !
  5. I know. It is a matter of perspective. Just feel it is getting a bit out of hand. Digital users shoot a mountain load OF CARP PICTURES ( in the hundreds ) and select VERY FEW ( Composition ? What is composition ? ) Then BLUFF with and FAKE with Photoshop..Photoshop, Do not start me, KEYBOARD SKILL NOT PHOTOGRAPHY Granted PS or is it POS ? ( I do hate it ) it has its uses for editing, adjustment NOT THE HORID FAKE GARBAGE commonly seen. A lot of these FAKERS do not even know what perspective is BASIC ART PRINCIPLE.. Us old timer film users have learned over a long time to be VERY selective and precise in what we actually shoot. This is a habit hard to shift I still find myself highly selective when shooting digital. Old habits die hard.
  6. Hear you both Use it or loose it. I agree. This desision is partilal looking forward incase film price seriously dIlutes the cameras values. Get out while going is good. I could allways buy a digital back for the RB or even the Bronica. But at £4k for a used 50 Mp It is a bit out of my price range. Okay the Canon 5D R is not Medium Format but sort of a halfway house that really needs used on a tripod. I will hold onto the 7 D Mk2 as well as it works superb hand held and great for motor sports. The 5D R lacks the high 10fps drive Anyhoo. Not doing it just yet.
  7. I need more 120 film HOLY CARP the price ! Whilst i love working in MF with my Mamiya C33's Bronica SQA and my Mamiya RB67.. This is far too expensive. Contemplating selling the RB with Prism, grip and 3 lenses, two 120 backs and WLF. My black C33 body. The SQA and 3 lenses, 3 backs 2 120 1 220. Considering this to fund a used Canon 5D R at 50 MP, I currntly own a 7D mk2. My lovely AUTHENTIC red Mamiya lizard skin C33 display camara I shall be keeping to still do a reduced amount of MF. No idea how to value her anyway.. Also keeping my Canon F1 New, 35mm is not as price sarey and I did regret selling my old type F1 anyway, and still justifies my film scanners existance.. An Olympus e620 and lenses to go too. None of this wlll happen till new year anyway as selling cameras at this time on Ebay is a little slow.. Your thoughts on this desision please.
  8. The Mamiya Paramender shouts for a heck of a tripod far from casually portable. The paralax indication hand, plus conversion table for certain lenses in the VF is a crutch for guess work, Oh I agree. I upgraded from a C3 (HELL OF A CAMERA) to the C33's purely for the extra functions Not that I have found the need to use them The paralax indicator really only kicks in close up. A Design flaw on the C3 is you can shoot a roll with lens internal blind closed (lens unlocked) A THING YOU WILL ONLY DO ONCE not exposing the filim. Rectified on the C33. In fairness I found the C3 nicer to use despite the manual shutter cocking which never bothered me in the slightest. No need to back pedal the winder handle. STILL I like the C33 Pictured my Red C33 Authentic Mamiya display camera NOT RECOVERED fine lizard skin finish as used on all Mamiya coloured cameras, more often seen on Mamiya sixes tho I have seen a DOG ROUGH blue C330. Gold Lizards used this same pattern leather. An Ebay bargain. seller had no idea what he had. Got it cheaper than a black one needing a bit of love.
  9. You are right lack of servicing over a long time will effect reliablilty. Even with Mamiyas. Usually only the shutter slow speed issues and light seals. These is easily remidied Even by a large handed truck machanic like me.. Are the Mamiyas more rugged ? YES ! Built like a brick shithouse. Built to last forever. Repairable forever. As I said "you could happily kill someone and keep on shooting" Try that with a Rolli. Dont think so.
  10. And impressively OVERPRICED and FRAGILE. ( £4000 FOR A TLR ???????? ) Look up photography forums including this one, you will see BROKEN ROLIFLEX, BROKEN ROLIFLEX, BROKEN ROLIFLEX. .Compared to the far technicaly superior brick, the Mamiya C. I nterchangable lenses, Close up bellows focusing and Paralax correction Close up exposure compensation indicator. ( C33 and C330 ) Also nearly indestructable. Built to last forever. ( With a little servicing ) A camera you can happily kill someone with, then keep shooting on. I will be sticking with my C33. Killing people ? Option reserved.
  11. Not into smaller MF cameras BIG BLOKE BIG HANDS I use a Mamiya RB67 DEFINITLY NOT WHAT YOU WANT and a Mamiya C33. Again NOT WHAT YOU WANT. I would look at the above mentioned Mamiys 6. As has been said MAMIYA 7'S TOO SPENDY but not as much as the OVER RATED extorcionately priced and notoriously fragile OLD 2.8 TLR Rolliflexes
  12. Enjoy the SQA Great wee camewra I own one too. Still I prefer my Mamiya RB67 and Mamiya C33 over the Bronica. WARY OF ELECTRONIC CAMERAS as they cannot be repaired and the wee batteries are expensive. I had a 50mm lens electronic failure with my SQA. Had to buy another lens. Luckily I got a VERY SCRUFFY, RUBBED but technically perfect 50 PS at THE RIGHT MONEY. Funny thing, this scruffy lens looks the part when fitted to the Nice condition Bronica
  13. I used to have a 356 (First MF LONG TIME AGO) It produced inigaes you could cut yourself on. You may have had lens issues. I gave the 356 to a mates daughter who did a photography masters degree she and her lecturers were impressed by the images it produced. ME ? Hated the lack of double exposure lock. tho the results I got from that camera were spectacular. Despite missed frames HATED THAT. You do get used to it. Never touch the camera between shots, do not wind on till ready for shooting next frame.
  14. Too right I Shutter speed ONLY EFFECTS AMBIENT LIGHT. Not flash ! A REAL PHOTOGRAPHER WILL KNOW THIS. Surprsing on here reading from those that dont. So called self professed experts included.
  15. Looks fine. I tend to add a sandbag to the other end of the boom arm to counterbalance. Sometimes even hang a MF camera. Get the balance right your fine.
  16. Cable length UNLIKELY but can ONLY effect recharge times not flash output as this is of FIXED CONSISTANT VALUE by the capicitors discharge to the flash head
  17. Since when has shutter speed HAD ANY EFFECT ON FLASH EXPOSURE ? Bar limited focal plane shutter sync speed limits. Only aperture has an effect on flash. But every photographer knows this ?
  18. Actually not a dam thing wrong with it. IT's A MAMIYA. Just thought the thread title is a refreshying change from Broken Roliflex or Broken Hassleblad. 😁
  19. Get onto the seller and switch lenses.
  20. I agree but. The Ektar I use is 100. Is it available as 400 ? NOT KNOW ! Never use 400 I have a tripod.
  21. This looks to me happend in processing. Has this happened with other rolls from this same camera, or just this one ? Some images show this green in near the center of the images. My money is on the processing.
