  1. Owinng a V700 you should be able to download the free version of Silverfast from Epson. Nothing more complex than entering scanner serial no. Sent by e-mail.
  2. I have a Benbo No1 Iron lung on standby I also have a modified Benbo Trecker ( Stupid bendy angle bracket done away with pistol grip fitted instead via a 3/8 UNC bolt bonded into the tube) The Trekker which is a lot lighter but a little unsturdy and top heavy when using the RB67 it is fine with the C33.Unless you go high I am 6ft 5 and rarely need to extend top tube.
  3. If its anything like the RB you need to remove the film back.. To test it properly you need to fit it with a roll of backing paper.
  4. You do not come across bear tooth glue often as most Mamiyas have had seals changed before. The other side of the rotating mount (film back side) had different glue as seal had been changed previous. That cleaned up A LOT easier.
  5. Done that before when using felt for the seals. I didnt have any problem like that. For light seals I have a roll of 10mm self adheasive foam sealing tape I just cut it into thinner strips. Apart from the cutting accurately which takes paitence its easy. Only did the RB coz they needed doing not because of light leaks It was not yet a problem.
  6. Changed the light seals on the Mamiya RB67. The rotating back to body seal has never been changed before. Did Mamiya use glue made from bears teeth on those seals ? REALLY REALLY HARD TO SHIFT.. I know it is the original glue as I came across the very same stuff on C3 seals. This was on a camera that had not been used since 1970 seals had turned to powder. Glue hard as flint.
  7. Not necessarily once you learn how to use it. For auto exposure you are right. FTb is a manual exposure camera same as the old F1 Are you saying the F1 is flawed ?
  8. Welcome to the world of NICE CHEAP ROLL FILM he says sarcasticly. But seriously. Have fun with new toy
  9. OOOPS SORRY duplicate post Electronic whizkid NOT
  10. Not my favourite due to my age related dislike of electronic cameras THIS FROM THE PERSON WHO FITTED AND PROGRAMMED A FULL ENGINE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM TO HIS 1971 CAR.

  12. I have not found the need or desire to own a 645. I either shoot 6X7 on the RB or 6X6 with either my Bronica SQA or Mamiya C33.. 6X6 is not just square but is meant to facilitate cropping meaning you have square landscape and portrait in the same shot. Granted you loose 3 shots over 645 but there is no need to tilt the camera. Have a look at the Bronica SQA GREAT CAMERA..Not my favourite due to my age related dislike of electronic cameras tho I do own 3 the Bronnie a Canon F1 New and a Canon A1. The Bronica is very similar to a Hasselblad in layout (Poor mans Hasselblad) and extremly versatile having a great choice of backs lenses and finders. Only gripes electronics and no cold shoe. Do not rule the SQA out.
  13. I believe that. Even with the RB on a light tripod you need to be carefull.
  14. But on a lighter tripod it is a bit top heavy steady but top heavy.. I used mine around and about on my modified Benbo Trekker. ( STUPID WOBBLEY PLASTIC ANGLE MOUNT Done away with) As the Benbo No 1 and the RB67 with prism would be like carrying a (three legged) horse around...
  15. Not called the beast for nothing. For its bulk weight and image quality.. Add the brute of a prism it's a lot heavier.
  16. Is there a 50mm for the RZ ? Thought the availible WA was 65mm, 65mm is certianly the most common I see listed,.even in KL versions for the RB. Not that I pay too much attention to RZ lenses.
  17. Th Think you will find $60 lenses are well shot. Speaking from experience.
  18. Enjoy the RZ Not that I have one I do have a RB67 Pro S.. RZ lenses are pretty costy compared to the RB ones. KL lenses are the exception tho those things are at a premium price too. My RB with 50mm 90mm and KL140mm. Prism finder and LH trigger grip stand me signigifigantly less money than an RZ with just one lens. Plus I much prefer full mechanical. Electronics and batteries can suck. Try getting an RZ fixed. I also own a Bronica SQ. Electronics on that have reared thier ugly head,.replacement component, the only feasible answer.
