  1. Thank you. As for the rule of thirds, I followed it. This is one of those images when the oof background is the subject. Everything is backwards in this composition. The blurred contemplative male in the background and the offset juxtaposition to the focused subject was intentional as was the back of the focused subject. I felt the subject was indifferent and that contemplative man was ignored. I only wish I had a bit more light. Thanks again for the kind words and input.
  2. Yeah, I need to come up with a permanent solution. Although these are huge heavy duty ties, I'm going to hardware store to look for something more secure.
  3. Those are good and I use a variety of that type for my small RF and Micro 4/3 bodies. I use the leather handle differently. It mainly serves to carry the camera like a suitcase. Although it does help with my grip a bit, it is mainly for carrying the beast around like a Graflex.
  4. The fishing stuff is a good idea. I have looked at camera strap attachments with little success. Thanks for the input.
  5. I did try this idea, but not individually or for each ring. I made a single strap and ran it across the two attachments on the camera. I used it for a while like this. I just need to break down and make two medal clips.
  6. I didn't know they existed. I'll have to look into those. Thanks!
  7. I love it. It is very simple and easy to use. The negatives are HUGE and the fixed lens is pretty good. There are certainly better lenses, but at a higher cost. Here is an example using a yellow filter. Trees by Henry Chavez, on Flickr
  8. I did try that, but then the handle torques badly.
  9. I got tired of carrying this beast around my neck, so I decided to just carry it in my hand. I bought a nice leather handle from a gentleman in London and attached it with two giant zip ties. Honestly, I would like a better solution than the zip ties and your suggestions are welcome. I do continue to use my cross shoulder strap when I carry two cameras on long journeys. I find the handle works really nicely for short jaunts with the additional benefit of helping my grip when shooting. Fuji GW690 III Pro

  11. Well, free software like Lightroom is next to impossible to find. I would suggest to buy Capture One. No monthly subscription, you own the software and it will do all and then some that LR does. The cost is about $300. I went away for LR when they started this subscription crap and making my bought software obsolete.
  12. I've started my research, you're right the supplies or getting harder to find. The Kodak has a spirit level in the viewfinder. My first thought was that it was just a gimmick, now I know why it is there. Thanks for the insight.
  13. I am seriously considering taking my Kodak Stereo Camera off of my collection shelf and using it on my up and coming vacation trip to the Palo Duro Canyon area. I am thinking, maybe one roll just to see what 3D images are like. I don't have a viewer, but I reckon they can be readily had. I found a place online, Berezin Stereo Photography Products, that sells holders and will even mount the images for you. Has anyone here used this old camera? What should I look for when using it? Any experience shared would be greatly appreciated.
  14. The photographs are for me and family. I hope to get a wall hanger, as it were, but mostly I look forward to actually photographing. I'll be using my Fuji GW690 for the medium stuff and my M6 for 35mm. I'll also have a Lumix GX8 I may take. I have a Kodak Stereo camera I am thinking about using, but I scared. ;-) I am still considering it for slides to be used with a viewer later. Thanks.
  15. That's a good point, but I don't think I'll be photographing in B&W for this trip. I always carry Tri-X with me, but I doubt I will use it on this trip.
  16. I forgot about E100, that is another very excellent suggestion. I had not heard of Dan Marguilis, I'll have to look him up. I stop using Photoshop and have switched to Capture One, but it may still be worth a read. Thanks for the suggestions.
  17. We are staying a little further north on the Palo Duro canyon rim, but we plan a day trip to Caprock. The place you mentioned doesn't allow pets inside, so we couldn't stay there. We are taking our first pet friendly trip and have planned things we can do out doors with them. I hadn't thought of Portra 160, that's a good idea. Thanks!
  18. I've used white corrugated plastic sheets for reflectors and light shading. They come in black too. I would cut an oversize door shape with a hole for the door knob and attach it to the door with double sided tape. The same could be done for the widows. These look clean can be easily removed. Good luck.
  19. Thanks, bye the way, that ELPH LT is a great camera. I had had one for years. The lens is pretty good too, not at the level of a Contax, but still damn good. Don't give up on the film. If you private message me, I'll send you a couple of rolls.
  20. Isn't your issue one of volume and not dilution? Could you simply change your agitation scheme to compensate for the lack of volume to cover your film? Continuous agitation and a shorter time? Just a thought.
  21. A quick google search found the following from PHOTRIO: "ajmiller said: ↑ I picked up a tin of each of these today. The labels say:- Ilford HP5 Type 612 - 200ft (61.0m) x 35mm on 2" core perforated emulsion out and Ilford FP4 Type 512 - 200ft (61.0m) x 35mm on 2" core perforated emulsion out" That is for that film, others will vary and it seems some of the packages are labeled with the sizes. Cheers
  22. The only thing that will be a set standard, will be the opening at the center of the bulk film roll. This is set so it can be used in bulk loaders. The "core" will vary from manufacture to manufacturer as will the diameter of the overall film as rJoe said. If you want the specific measurements for the Ilford roll you posted a link for, I'm sure you could get that from them with a quick email.
