    Folded.

Owen. Somehow I missed this shot. Sorry. It is a lovely study and composition. I think the tonal range is really good and all the lines enter and leave the shot in exactly the right places. Great job. All the best. Dana...

Thanks to everyone for taking the time to look and comment. David R. The relationship of her hair and arm also caught my attention and ended up being the deciding factor in choosing this image. Glad you saw it too. David M. I see it as both "real" and "unreal". It is quite literal in one sense; a naked woman standing on a rock but I think the mood is a bit unreal; like something from a dream (at least I hope this). But I do see your point and agree. John. Yes, this is how I see it; a dream. The title translates to something like Fey/Fairy Lover and the Shakespeare reference is appropriate. Donna. Wow, a 7! Thanks. It was breezy but warm and the sky was overcast giving it some feel that I really liked. The model is a wonder and makes me look pretty good. I think she exudes femininity and power. My job is to make sure everything else in the photo looks right. Fred G. I always look forward to hearing your thoughts. This particular comment makes me blush a bit and I hope I am worthy of it. It seems to me that whenever you (I) take a photograph of another human being (naked or not), it in some sense objectifies that person. The challenge is how does the artist objectify the person in a respectful or meaningful way. I really don't know the answer and can only follow my muse and sensibility. I am really pleased that you see the overall beauty of the photograph, irrespective of the content and I am humbled that anyone thinks I have an instinct for this. I hope you are right. I think one of the keys is that, no matter their appearance, the models that I have had the privilege to photograph are confident and have a strong sense of themselves. That makes my job much easier. Amy. I am so happy that you are commenting and posting again. I am glad that you liked it and thought it timeless. All the best. Dana...

John. I have looked at this quite a few times now and didn't quite know what to say, other than I like it. It just seemed different from your usual work (and is). I really like the starkness of it and it seems spontaneous. I also like the model's "attitude"; it seems aggressive. The best part for me is that it led me to this gallery (the loneliness of a big city). I had never looked through it before and I really like the work exhibited in it. All the best. Dana...

    TORRID PALE FLESH

Raymond. The graphic nature of the contrast is perfect for the subject. Compositionally (is that a word), I like all the diagonals. But best of all it is torrid. All the best. Dana...
  11. Thank you to everyone for taking the time to comment. David R. It is a real compliment coming from someone who is as obviously thoughtful about their work as you are. John. As always, I am pleased to hear what you think and glad that you like the shot. I am not too good at titles and it was good to get a perspective on that as well. David M. I'll keep shooting and sharing. I like getting the feedback. Glad you thought it worthy. All the best. Dana...

  18. Great! Erotic! The tongue jewel is perfectly highlighted, draws the eye, and compliments all the other spheres/circles in the shot. Very cool. Dana...

    Red women

Rudolf. Very interesting. I like to use painting as inspiration in my photograph and this reminds my of Gauguin's "the dance" or some other of his work in Tahiti. Cool. Dana...
  21. David. This is really a cool nude portrait. The high key treatment works very well with her hair and eyes. I also like that you can see her entire outline if you look carefully and this gives her depth and interest. I really like it. Dana...

    After the Flood

Drew. Thanks and glad that you liked the shot so much (a !!!! is awesome from you). Jon. I appreciate the comment on tone. I thought that maybe I was a little overboard on the contrast so it was good to get some feedback. David R. Thanks for the comment on contrast. See my comment to John above. I was a little uncertain and I am glad that it worked. Pierre. Thanks for the encouragement and compliment. John. Thanks. Seems like my fretting over the contrast worked for most folks. I appreciate the comment about them blending in their surroundings. I wanted them to look a bit like drift wood washed up after a flood. joao. Thanks, glad you liked it, and I agree totally about the models. They are both fantastic a willing to work for a shot. Gianni. Thanks for the encouragement. Laura. I agree with the comment about their hands and arms. This was the model's intuitive understanding of the situation and my job was to get the moment. As you know, I usually choose Black and White because it automatically begins to create an abstract of the scene (any scene). In this case, I wanted a brooding/dark quality and wanted the models to look like drift wood. I am glad that you liked the choice but it was tempting to make a color version because of the environment and one model has lovely red hair. Yes, the models rock!!! They are both lovely people, physically and mentally, and work their asses off to get good images. This shot is as much theirs as mine. I like your interpretation of their rescue and that we have recovered the most beautiful, represented by the women. I didn't see it that way but it is a wonderful way to interpret it. Yes, the hands are the soul of the shot and the models did this intuitively (as I said above). I am very glad that you see it this way. Thanks so much for the thoughtful comment. Raymond. Thank you my friend. I do see them as vulnerable in the situation as well (both in reality and the shot). David M. You are never late to my party brother. Thanks for taking the time and I am glad that you liked it. Anabela. Thanks for the encouragement. All the best to everyone and thanks again. Dana...

John. Great composition. It took me a while to get my focus off the obvious assets (a guy really could look at this woman all day) and see the wonderful juxtaposition of the two paintings. They create an interesting depth to the photo that isn't immediately obvious. Great work. Dana...
