  1. Jorge.....you are in Miami at a historic moment in time. Wonderful documentary work!
  2. I love the contrasts and various shapes. In this instance I think it works in your favor that there aren't any clouds in the sky. I'll be going to Chicago next week and may try some shots like this. Bravo!
  3. Warren.....as I've been looking through your portfolio it's clear that you love to 'play' with effects. This is a particularly nice one. Very different and contemporary.

    Dahlias Three

Warren......dahlias are one of my favorite flowers! This is gorgeous!
  5. Greg and Verena.....wow!  The large view is stunning!  And where would this be, if you don't mind me asking?
  6. Warren.....yeah, so many changes!  This summer we bought those books that tell what was happening in the years our kids were born.....1978 and 1981.  Even that far back things seemed antiquated!  Norm and I bought our years too.....seems like the dark ages!  Ha!
  7. Patsy, Holger, Warren and David.......thanks for your comments......glad you like Ollie!  :-)  I'm so glad to see some familiar faces still on Photo.net.  I've been out of commission (extended traveling) and haven't been around much this past year.
  8. Thanks, Alf! Good to be back. I'll try to get back in the swing of things around here! Traveling was great, but we had such limited access to Internet and even phone service in so many places.
  9. Tony....funny, but it makes me feel SO old to know that my grandkids don't even know what a rotary phone is. Fisher Price makes a cute pull toy that is a phone....it rings when you pull it across the floor. I was going to buy it for them until I came to my senses and realized they would have no idea what it was. :-)
  10. Alf, perhaps it all has 'been done before', but I'll bet not like this! Exquisitely beautiful. The silken flow of the water against the crunchy leaves, the tack sharpness throughout, and the diagonal running of the stream through the image.....all signs of an expert photographer. If we ever make it over to visit you, we must visit this place!
  11. A wonderful foggy early morn.....or so it seems. There is a visceral quality to this that evokes the feelings we had many times on our recent 5-month travels out west. I want to be there! Beautiful image!
  12. Bill and Mike.....thanks, guys. I love these dogs with their faces that are so ugly they're cute! No relation. I was in a public place. His owner was a big guy who needed to sit down to rest. He had Ollie in a red wagon, and we spent quite a while chatting. Oh.....and I've missed you guys and hanging out here on PN.

    Twins

My grandchildren at the pet store. They were taking it all in.
  14. This was taken in Virginia City, Montana....a certified ghost town. This scene remains in one of the buildings, and it had meaning to me. My husband's family had a party line with 4 families on it, and they used a telephone operator like this. That person happened to be his grandmother.
  15. Bill, Supriyo and Mike, I tried to provide more info about this picture, but PN won't allow me to provide the link.....stating something about HTML. I was so struck by this juxtaposition. If you want to read more about it, just Google it. This woman just died this year. And I was surprised to find out that these were 2 random people....it was not a romantic event.
  16. The iconic WW II Victory Kiss. Taken at the Eisenhower Museum in Kansas.
  17. Ollie was so friendly, and he seemed to like having his picture taken.
  18. Ollie was the friendliest dog, and I just loved his face!
