At 10:30PM, friday, November 25, 2016, Raul Castro announced the death

of his brother Fidel Castro Ruz, and The City of Miami started a celebration

that still is going on 24 hours later.

I think the starkness of the black background makes this shot very effective and it has an appropriateness to it. It works as a fine documentary shot. The two faces also seem to relate importantly to each other, the severity of Catro's and the more soft, gently-colored face of the man holding the newspaper.

Celebrating the death...hum, pretty primitive, but since they believe they suffered under his rule very understandable!

Keep registering life, mi amigo!

You previously have shown on quite a few occasions that the use of a series of images helps to tell a story more effectively than a single one. Here the series documents Castro's death, but it also does much more.  It documents years of frustration and sorrow of the Cuban community, especially. Best of all, it expresses their hope for the future.

Viva Cuba Libre!

i know it doesn't seem like that in Miami, but he was a huge (largely fictional) hero in much of the world. best, jamie

It certainly has been a Historical few months. I can't imagine the mixture of feelings the Cubans in Miami and probably all over the States have felt. Good shot Jorge.
