I will have an exhibition next week in Athens, Greece but due to the strike, i cannot ship my work from Istanbul to Athens.
I may have to do the prints and frames in Athens.
Please advice me the best pro labs which have lambda or lightjet printers and best frame shops which can do museum quality frames with museum glass.
Thank you.

you would not realize the distortion if you are shooting clouds or landscapes. but if you are shooting architecture or something which has vertical or horizantol lines you even realize the distortion on the viewfinder right away.

-

thank you all. But this lens is not have distortion at 24mm but also almost every focal lenght. I just switched to canon 5dmk ii from my mamiya rz67 so may be thats why i see this incredible distortion compared to mamiya lenses.

Which f-stop is the sharpest in 24-105mm L lens? And do other zoom lenses of Canon have that incredible distortion also?

ok i tried it. some looks corrupted!

ok Steven I will try that.

I use Digital Photo Pro 3.6.2
I used to convert and save the images before this incident.
It says, An Error occured, and the detail window says, Decoding failed.
I guess i need to find a software which rescues corrupted cr2 files. any suggestions?

Ken, I m not asking whats the workflow i should do. Whatever is happened is happened. Now i have to find a way to save these corrupted cr2 files. thats my question!

I had 480 raw files that i have downloaded couple days ago to my macbookpro desktop. then i have created a new folder and moved them to my external hard disk by using bridge. anyways they get lost!
later on i have discovered this software called 'data rescue 3' and run the program. the software worked great and found my 480 raw files shot by canon 5d mk ii.
but now those recovered raw files doesnt work in digital photo pro software. i mean i can preview them and do color corrections but when i try to convert and save them i get an error message. is there anyway i can save these raw shots?

Which paper is sharper and better tonal range in bw and color printing? They will be printed by a lambda printer. Thanks.

what about f 22? do you think i will loose sharpness?

-

I asked the question because a friend of mine has D3 and he said, no camera in the market can beat D3 in high iso. even d3x. but i need high resolution and thinking about buying canon 5d mk ii. let me check that site also. thanks.

Which camera do you think is best for iso 800-3200 shooting?

I have 4 Mamiya rz67 lenses.
50mm ULD
110mm
180mm
350mmAPO
and wondering what would be the best f stop in terms of sharpness and depth of field for these lenses? I usually shot at around f 11 or f 16. Do you think I will loose sharpness if I stop down further like f 32 or f45?

Thanks.

Thank you.

Is there any big difference between these lenses in terms of sharpness? I do big prints. Thank you.

-

i made a mistake. i just checked and the kit lens is 24-105L lens. and in the website of digital-picture.com there is an amazing comparison of lenses. thanks j.harrington.
at f4 there is a slight difference btw 24-105L lens and 50mm f1.4 lens.

-

the reason asking the question is, i m thinking of buying the canon 5d mkii. should i buy the kit lens(28-105) or just buy the body and a 50mm f1.4 lens?

-

Which one will be sharper at 50mm focal lenght?I guess 50mm prime but do you guys think there is a big difference in terms of sharpness?

And how good is 28-105mm lens at 28mm and 105mm?

-

thank you guys. i will go with the f 1.4 .
this is my overall conclusion after reading your comments.

focusing with mamiya rz67 at night is not a problem. it has an amazing viewfinder so that's not the question. the question which one will look more sharp and/or good in big prints?

-

John, if you can make that size of prints then Im good to go.. But let me tell you one more thing. my dealer looks at the prints from an inch away. i hope they still look sharp at that distance.. ?

-

Thank you John and Ed. These are great explanations. I both hear you. I mostly shoot at f11or f16(iso 100) at night time. so i guess with this f stop canon will be ok in terms of sharpness.
the only problem left out for me is, i do big size prints around 110cm x 140cm and i don think i can do that size prints with canon5dmkii(21million pixel at 240 dpi)
My lab prints around 150dpi to 200 dpi with a lightjet print. Even with those dpi numbers, canon is far way form those dimensions i mention..
Hasselblad digital cameras will be too expensive for me. So I still don't know...

Which lab in NYC do prints 70" x 90" ( C-print)?
