Dan, I review on quicktime after downloading the file to my laptop.
Elliot, I didn't burn a dvd. I dont think it is related to that though.
I had Canon 5D mark II before I switched to NikonD800E and it had the same problem also.

Hi everybody,
When shooting video with D800E, unfortunately it is dropping frames or skipping frames most of the time.
It is not a slow card issue or a slow computer issue since i use the fastest and different brands and I have a fast MacBook Pro.
Who has experienced this issue and is there any solution for this?

Thank you all.

Bob, my 300mm lens and the body is brand new.

I wonder if it is the same for Canon bodies w Canon long lenses. I had Canon 5D mark ii w 200mm lens and had no movement at all. But again it was 200mm. May be things change after 300mm..

Howard, thanks a lot. thats a great tip. appreciated.

Michael, If that is completely normal, how come my other lenses are rock solid stable.??

Hi there,
I just got this Nikon 300mm AF S F/4 lens and start using it w my Nikon D800E. When I put the lens on the body, i have realized a small movement like (half a mm) from left to right or right to left. I mean when holding the body, the lens has a little rotation ( half a mm) to left or right, when i try to rotate.
Is this normal??

Thanks very much.

Thanks. I had Canon 5D mark ii and it had that feature which is super cool. it is a little disappointment for me now with the Nikon D800E.

What am I doing wrong? Nikon D800E does not give an option of upgrade for the firmware under the menu. WHat could it be? I have downloaded the file and copy it into my compact flash card. Then putting it into my camera, and going to menu to upgrade the firmware, it doesnt give me the option of firmware update.??

Hi there, can someone out there help explain to me how to setup my D800E to take multiple EV exposures (5 at 1EV) with a single press of the shutter release without holding the button?
Thank you!

Do you guys think this is a sharp image? it is nite time shot around couple seconds on D800E.

-

I just got the kirk collar and start testing it. so far it looks ok. i guess it is also about what you shoot at infinity focus. if it is a tree , it will not be as sharp as a bird i guess. i will do some nite shots tnite and will let you know the results. thanks for your very helpful comments by the way.

so is it impossible to do night time photography with long exposures with this 300mm lens??

-

It focuses to infinity however i couldn't get any steady sharp shots. I will go to BH store in ny to try out the new collars today. Thank you guys.

Hi everyone,
I have just bought this Nikon AF-S 300mm f/4 lens for my nikon D800E. i have been testing all day, and I have found impossible to get a sharp image on infinity focus. I have tried everything from self timer to mirror lock up to iso 800 at 1/400. However I can get a sharp image when i focus to 10 to 20ft.
What could be the problem? Is it the Nikon collar and if it is which one do you recommend? Kirk or RRS?
Thanks for your time.

i have tried every shutter speed. no photo button pressed either. Looks like it is an hardware problem.:(

Unfortunately I can see the dropped frames on my 5d's LCD screen.. It is not a computer problem since i use a very fast Macbook pro. It looks like my camera is not from your batch! And Canon ignores this problem. What a shame..

Hi everybody,
When shooting video with 5d, unfortunately it is dropping frames or duplicating frames most of the time. It is not a slow card issue since i use the fastest and different brands. Who has experienced this issue and is there any solution for this? Thank you all.

Thanks Andrew but they dont have lightjet 500xl which prints 60" wide. they have the smaller version of it. they can only print max 48" wide.

-

yes i know the machine. but it looks like only duggal carries that machine in nyc. any advice for another lab??

-

I m looking for a lab which can print C-print 60"x75" other than Duggal. I had prints in Grieger lab (Germany) this size and the price was $370. I asked the same size print to Duggal and they give me a quote of $500.
So do you guys know any other lab which is not ridicolusly expensive like Duggal and can print 60"x75" C print?
