I figured it was time to put some of my Macro equipment to work. The hardest thing is trying to find something to photograph ! Here is a picture I took of a small label on a bottle. This label is smaller than the finger-nail on your pincky finger, but check out the magnification ! The equipment I used was a Nikon PB-4 Bellows, Nikon D7000 DSLR and Nikkor 50mm f2. The picture is slightly compressed due to Photo.net requirements...

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Photo.net transferred all the accounts to their new platform in 2022. If your account was not accessible in 2022 which you say it wasn't, then it probably did not get transferred over. After Photo.net transfered over all the accounts that were 'active' on the old photo.net platform, (the 2010 version), there might have been a grace period where they held on to the old platform to make sure they did not miss anything. However that period is definitely over, so I would assume that there would be no need for them to hold on to the old platform since it takes up a lot of space on their servers. There is a slight possibility that the old platform was Archived somewhere and may still be accessible somehow, but right now Photo.net is running on Automatic. Unlike older version where you could contact the administrators, it is virtually impossible to do that these days. You might try writing them a letter if that's possible. I know this thread is kind of old, but it seems that the Aperture Ring problem is more common than I thought. If it wasn't, there would not be this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gtm0DnQwu2s. Actually there are several videos on Youtube and other articles concerning this problem. One guy recommended using a toothpick to carefully place glue under the rubber part of the wheel so that it sticks to the rest of the plastic wheel. Actually I tried this and for a while it did improve things, but I then tried to improve things even more and winded up screwing everything up. Now the Aperture ring is worse than before. Frustrated I dediced to replace the entire camera. Lucky for me Adorama was selling a 6D in E- condition for less than $350 ! Mine came in the mail today and sure enough, it's in excellent condition. Everything looks and works better than my old damaged 6D, including the image on the back LCD which looks much clearer and sharper ? I also purchased the entire Aperture wheel mechanism for my my damaged 6D on Ebay: I don't think I have the courage to replace it myself, but maybe I can find a repair shop that won't charge me what Canon is suggesting. They are also selling these for the 5D Mk IV, BTW.

If somebody didn't tell me those pictures were manipulated, I couldn't tell the difference ?

After thoroughly reading the Manual this is what it says: [5. Auto Power Off function 1. To conserve battery power, the meter will turn off about twenty minutes after last use. 2. Whether the Auto Power Saving feature turns the power off or the Power button u is pressed, the settings and measured values remain stored in memory. When the Power button is pressed again the last settings are displayed.] It could be there is something wrong with my meter ?

The problem is that this meter is very easy to turn on. All you have to do is tap the Power button. To turn Off the light meter you have to tap and hold the Power button. The LCD is only illuminated in low light. Otherwise, the meter displays your last reading, whether you took it 2 minutes ago or 2 weeks ago. I'm not sure how much this drains the sort of expensive 6V battery ? I noticed this when I took a reading earlier during the day, then I went out to run some errands. About 1 hour later I returned home and my last reading was still being displayed on the LCD ! My Minolta meter turns Off after about 2 minutes to save battery power ? It's no big deal, all I have to do is remember to turn the meter off, but supose the meter is inadvertently turned On while in my bag which is very easy ?

I like it ! It's simple and straight forward. The wide aperture forces you to concentrate on the main subject which is the utility box. The background is slightly faded, but not exactly blown away which again, gives more emphasis to the main subject. B&W instead of color makes it easier on the eyes (IMHO). Not sure if you cropped this image, but it does seem appropriate using this format.

There is a lot of depth in this picture that gives it a 3D look. The composition, focusing, colors are all good. There is a slight amount of vigneting in the lower part of the picture, also the brown branch? or whatever that is in the background, is a little distracting. Otherwise good job !

For anybody that has a Sekonic L-358 Light Meter, or has used one, do you know if this Light Meter has an Auto Shut-off feature ? Mine seems to stay on all the time unless I hit the Power button ? I checked the manual and it does say that the iluminated LCD turns off by itself, but nothing about the meter itself.

The snow looks a little greyish. A stop or two over-exposure might have improved this picture...

This morning I noticed the little flowers bloomed in my lens cap with water !

Never realized how hard this (macro) stuff is ! Took me about an hour just to get this so-so looking. I picked these extremely tiny grass flowers earlier during the day and put them in my shirt pocket. Later on when I got home, I put water in one of my lens caps filled with water, to my surprise they started to grow...

I usually use 3-4 plastic graduates(dev/stop/fix/bleach) for my B&W and Color development. After years of using these plastic graduates, only the Development graduate is fogged and has a yellowish color. The other graduates look fine...
