though i have not yet been there (and i must sometime) i think i can say with certain confidence that this image portays oh so well the beauty, grandeur and power of the Icelandic landscape. awesome color and lighting.

Pyramid Lake resort by any chance?? a beautiful spot indeed, and an equally beautiful memory captured in this image. love the persepctive, and the warm glow off the canoe is glorious. i look forward to seeing more of your work from Jasper.

any thoughts on my rendition of this Canadian Rockies classic? not
the awe-inspiring light show i had been hoping for, but an
impressive scene nonetheless. thanks!

a refreshingly awesome view of this oft-photographed location. the inclusion of the valley bottome makes this shot. you can see the city spilling down the sides of the cliffs - a true testament to the incas. where exactly did you take it from? was this location readily accessible? this image does a great job of giving one the sense of what it is like to be there, better than many i have seen. congrats!!

not far from away it was pissing rain, but here, just ahead of the
weather, there was some opening amongst the clouds that allowed for
some light to penetrate and made for quite the sunset. this shot
was taken well after the colors had peaked, but i like the way the
clouds and the patterns in the sand seem to be paralleled. Let me
know what you think...thanks!

the last warm rays of the day catch the edge of some lakeside rocks
on Cold Lake as the dusk sky turns various pastel shades. all
thoughts and comments are, as always, greatly appreciated - thanks!

after a summer siesta away from posting any new images, here's my
first post in some time. as always, let me know what you think.
enjoy - thanks for viewing.

awesome, powerful image. composition is wonderful, lighting dramatic. the wispy, backlit clouds make the shot.

not only a lovely landscape image, but a story of culture as well. congrats!

stunning Rick, truely stunning. not that i need tell you, but the moutains are a simply amazing environment. this photo shouts that aloud. hardy alpine flowers provinding a splash of color, the verdant greens of the fragile vegetation underfoot, the striking peaks, the lovely warm light, the subtle reflection and the lingering snow patches. this is awesome. need i say more!?

a relatively simple image in its contents, but something about it gels. i think its the sense of a calm, quite morning after a fresh snowfall. the obvious red and white contrast works well. my only critique - why post a photo of winter in mid-summer!? with such a short summer, i try to embrace summer while we can and forget about the cold months ahead. i'm kidding - i love winter. great shot.

Eugene - as you can tell for the comments i've left recently, i really like this recent Canadian Rockies series (a bit biased of course), however, to be quite honest, i find the alpenglow in this one just a bit too red. with the fires we've had around here lately, i suppose this could be possible. anyway, would be curious to hear how close you think this approximates what it really looked like. as for the composition, it's a classic!

not only is this a gorgeous place, but this is a stunning shot. great color rendition, just the right amount of ND grad, lovely reflection. as you can tell, i like this one too...

Richard - a very powerful mountain image indeed! your eye for this image is impressive. to take a relatively ordinary mountain image and transform that into this jagged and harsh b/w image is a marvelous thing. the gradation from light to dark in the sky, accented perfectly by the moon, is superb. i do, however, agree that a more square crop might benefit the image by loosing some of the black off the bottom.

what lovely clouds! well seen image. i agree with the earlier comment about the top being just a bit too dark relative to the reflection. other than that, i really like this. the gap in the rocks that allows the view of the far off distance adds an interesting element of intrigue.
