not all photography is art...but this is art in every sense of the word. wonderful in every regard.

another one from this classic scene of Ranooch Moor. the heather was past
its prime, but there was still the odd patch that had some good color. this
one was tough as there was a cold wind blowing strong and i tried time this
shot in between gusts of wind to minimize the blur of the vegetation, but
couldn't avoid it all. thoughts, comments and critiques are greatly
appreciated. thanks!!

to me, this represents a lot of what the northeast of england has to offer:
gloomy weather, castles and the north sea. hope you like it! all thoughts,
comments and critiques are greatly appreciated.

very interested to hear what others think of this one - this is very similar to a
recent post (Morning Mood) but with this one i took B&W approach and
pano crop to this one. curious to know what you think of this alone, but also
compared to my previous post. all thoughts, comments and critiques are
greatly appreciated - thanks!!

i had a single morning to take advantage of at Canyonlands NP in Utah. i
had hoped (as always) for a memorable display of dawn light, but the east
sky ended up shrouded in cloud and a horribly cold wind was blowing. i
persevered for a little while and managed to produce a couple pics that i'm
reasonably happy with. all thoughts, comments and critiques are greatly
appreciated.
does the cliff along the left side distract? i tried cropping it but find the loss
of the yellow bush and the branch tips annoying.

upon arrival to Ranooch Moor, this classic scene was dark, cloudy and
gloomy. i think these conditions were just right to convey the feel of the
place. all thoughts, comments and critiques are grealty appreciated. thanks
for viewing!

a classic location on Scotland's Ranooch Moor. the day before this area
had been thick with cloud, but the next morning there wasn't a cloud to be
seen. i was almost complaining that the conditions were too good - no
clouds for added color, mood. but, alas, i came away pretty happy all things
considered. thoughts, comments, and critiques are all greatly appreciated.
thanks!!

my first post after a long absence...taken just over a month ago on a
backpacking trip into Jasper's Tonquin Valley. the morning began very
misty (and cold) and it was only after waiting for over an hour that the mist
cleared enough to reveal the mighty Ramparts across the lake. all thoughts,
comments and constructive criticisms are greatly appreciated. thanks for
viewing!

lovely warm tones. the silhouetted spruce make the shot.

anish - i too love this shot. everything works seamlessly together. the deep color in the sky and the crisp white really make this one 'pop'. great!

great shot Don! a very powerful image. the placement of elements is perfect, colors are wonderful and the bird adds important context. great!

a powerful image that captures the raw beauty of iceland. clearly another reason why i must one day visit this incredible place. thanks!

great shot! i like the trees. they provide a nice anchor to the right side of the image, allowing the eye to focus on the other great elements.

i think this photo speaks to the reason why we all love photography. i can only imagine that a morning like this is one that would be one to remember. fantastic!
