What a great shot! Very mystical. I love the colors! I'd buy a print!

Your vantage point is perfect. I don't mind the tilt in the tree either. I bet it has a tilt due to years of exposure to prevailing winds....

Wonderful capture of an amazing place!

Nice shot, Michaela! Is this near Glacier National Park, by any chance?

All the elements of this picture work together in such beautiful harmony. Congrats on a gorgeous autumn shot!

Terrific shot! The lighting is magical as is the horse. It may have been nice to have included the entire shadow of the horse in the composition, but then again, this really is pretty as is.... nevermind. :-)

This is a beautiful shot! The curves, soft colors of the muddy water in contrast to the harsh dramatic sky, the clarity in the native grasses all make this spectacular! Definitely my favorite so far from your portfolio. These keep getting better and better, so I'm sure a new favorite is just lurking around the corner waiting to make it's way from your camera through the ether...

I love the dark mood and the leading lines of the road and the trees!

Hi Ivan! Thanks for the comment. I intentionally darkened the left side of her face so it would appear to be "missing" there, but present in the mirror (thus the "reclaiming" theme I was attempting to convey). :-)

Cool shot! To see others, including a shot I did in a gazing ball, go to the Mirror Project: http://www.mirrorproject.com/search/results/?id=17997&term=gazing+ball&x=9&y=8

This is great, Robert! The tones are dead on. There is nice clarity in the foliage to contrast the softness of the water.

I gasped when coming around the curve in the road and seeing this
ominous landscape for the first time. Quake Lake is located between
West Yellowstone and Ennis, MT. The lake was formed after a massive
earthquake in the 1950's caused an entire side of a mountain to slide
down, blocking off the Madison River. Comments appreciated.

I love all the soft layer silhouettes of the hills and the trees. The house is a perfect inclusion as it give a sense of scale. I want to go there......

Yet another gorgeous landscape, Dave!! I like how the little channel of water leads your eye through to the shimmering lake and the snow-capped peaks. Nice colors in the foreground grasses and great clouds! That's it, I've had it, I'm coming to Alaska, dangit! I know I could convince my flyfisherhusband! :-)

This is gorgeous! The placid lake, the quaint little house, the placid mood -- simply wonderful!

I really like the mood of this shot! What a luck dog! Gorgeous toning and good timing on the wave!

Magical capture -- like something out of a fairy tale!

Nothing like combining a still life with a landscape shot! Well done! Clarity and lighting are wonderful!!

You've made this famous location look more beautiful at night than it does during the day! Great colors, clarity and lighting!
-
The placement of all of the elements in the composition is lovely. You've represented the beauty of this location very well!
-
Very creative, Juan! The exposure is perfect!

What a great scene! It contains many interesting elements, from the church at the bottom to the buildings and roads that look like they were carved into the rocky hillside. I like the tones and clarity. I bet the original is awesome!
