This photo won an Honorable Mention in the Adobe Digital Imaging
Competition (http://www.photoworkshop.com/contest/adobe_contest.html)
in the Lightly Manipulated category. I'm curious as to how it will
fare here amoung the PN denzions. Comments sincerely appreciated.

This was a special moment for me. New Year's Day, in the evening,
second hike of the day at Big Bend National Park, Texas. Despite
being fairly tired, we climbed up to this vista with a bottle of
champagne in the backpack and toasted the New Year looking out at this
view at Balanced Rock in the Grapevine Hills. This rock is perched
about two stories high. It's quite an impressive natural structure.
After drinking the bottle of champagne, the hike down was quite
enjoyable. Comments appreciated!

I'm thrilled to get to see your wonderful winter shots for the next few months! Love the moose prints! I really miss the pastel tones reminiscent of a wintery sunset.

Hiya Chris! Considering you're in a cave and imagining the lighting conditions, I think this is a very cool shot. I really like the clarity, texture and sharpness in all of the "gothic" formations as well as the toning and shadows. It works simply as a well-executed informative photo, but could also work as a artsy 3D abstract, IMHO. Did you happen to get any close-up shots of any of these formations? I'm really intrigued with this cave, thanks to your photos, and planning to pay a visit to this place myself!

Brrrrrrr.... I like the perfectly undisturbed blanket of snow.

I'm curious what you think of this infrared version (versus my
recently uploaded color version)... I appreciate your comments!

I like this shot very much! I think the berries really add to this -- they look like little holiday lights!

Love the mood of this! Stupendous! I'm going to have to learn more about Ilford film and give it a try. I've seen other pictures using this film with a similar effect. I really like it!

Fun shot! I can almost imagine the other cat in the picture looking on and thinking "whatta show-off!".... :-)

Taken along Hwy 170, a very scenic stretch of road in southwest Texas
that runs you through deserts and canyons along the Rio Grande river
and takes you into Mexico.

There is something very spiritual about this photo. The juxtaposition in the activity on the ground below adds even more to the magic of this shot.
Alec, thank you for inviting me to visit your portfolio. Nice camera! :-)

A mesa, clouds, and a faraway moon that rose each afternoon during the
week we were in the Big Bend area. This was taken on the Texas
Mountain Trail not far from Alpine.

Nice shot... they look engrossed in each other, totally oblivious of the world around them.

I like your "peek a boo" portraits quite a lot, Rene!

I really like the warm tones on this! Perfect choice for the circumstance! The clouds are great and that temple is incredible!

I love the tones that your camera captures when using an infrared filter! The cyans and the dusky wine colors are very nice. Composition and clarity is perfect too.
