  1. Gleb Shtengel was able to locate a sent of masks to copy and made me a set!!! I can scan my MF film :) !
  2. I have a Minolta Scan Multi II F-3100 that is missing the medium format masks (I have the MF holder 2883-242). These masks are no longer available. There is a gentleman (Gleb Shtengel) who makes replacement masks for the Nikon 8000/9000 out of 0.01" thick styrene & sells them on eBay. He says he can make masks for the Minolta scanner but needs an original set to copy. Once he has the measurements then anyone who needs them will be able to source them again. Service and Repair of Nikon Coolscan Scanners Replacement Mask Set for Nikon FH-869GR Glass Film Holder for 8000 /9000 scanner 18208091805 | eBay Does anyone have a set of medium format masks for the Minolta F-3000/F-3100 that would be willing to loan them to Gleb to be copied? Gleb lives in Virginia USA. Thanks!
  3. I travel a lot. I have 7 primary storage cards for Mon to Sun. I change cards every day. At night I back them up to my Android tablet with a 256GB mSD card. I use an OTG USB adapter & small USB card reader. It's hard to do this with an Apple tablet. No internet needed. Easy.
  4. I have the 110 f/2 first version (not FE) for my 2000 FC/M. It is that good. And I have two 2000 FC/M bodies that both still work. Back in the late 90's I paid $600 for it. I thought that it was too much money back then. I also have the 80mm f/1.9 Mamiya 645. I rarely use it as the 110 is far better.
  5. OK, this is 16 Years old but I have real good news for the F-2800 scanner! I just moved to Windows 10 1909 from XP where the Minolta Scan Speed F-2800 was rock sold using ViewScan. I was able to find Win10 drivers for my Adaptec AHA-2920C PCI SCSI adapter and a Win10 .inf driver file for the Minolta Scan Speed F-2800. Installed the latest release of VueScan Pro and bang! Scanner works! Don't toss the F-2800 quite yet!
  6. There a a number of shops out there. For older lenses like this I use Ross Yerkes. Some have give Ross bad review but in 15 years he has always done a superb job for me. He restored a fungus ravaged Rolleiflex f 3.5 that Harry Fleenor said was unrepairable (Harry later on put a Maxwell screen in it for me saying that the lens was very sharp), CLA'd a couple of Contaflex Super cameras that are very complex and few shops will work on. He has a couple of my lenses that need a CLA right now. 342 Kirby St Los Angeles, CA 90042 Highland Park Phone number (323) 256-1018 The other person I'd try is Eric Hendrickson at Home-Pentaxs. Eric services Pentax M42 & K mount cameras as well as the 6x7 & lenses. He's done a lot of my M42 lenses. Just did a superb job on my 50mm f/4 SMC Takumar macro lens. I don't know if he will work on it for you. But if he does it will be done right. Send him an email at: pentaxrepairs@aol.com Good luck!
  7. I know I'm raising an old thread but need to correct some info. The Fuji Discovery 1000 Zoom was a 1992 camera sold in America. The earlier Fuji compacts in the 80's were not zooms. It has a 35-80mm zoom. The aperture is not marked on the camera. The camera came with a mask insert that fits in to the normal 24x36mm film gate and crops the exposed film to 13mm x 36mm for the panao effect. To fully open the back press gently on orange clip that holds the back where the film cassette goes. The back will then swing fully open. There were two versions of the Discovery 1000. One has a date back the other one does not. The Fuji DL-1000 is the same camera without the pano adapter. DL stands for "Drop Load". If you have a Discovery 1000 pano adapter it should fit the DL-1000. The DL-1000 was sold in Europe with and without the date back but not with the pano adapter. There was also a Fuji Discovery 975 Panoramic camera as well that was sold in America. It is the same as the 1000 - I do not know why Fuji sold it with two different names. The 975 cameras that I've seen did not have the date back but that doesn't mean Fuji never made one. It uses two 123 sized 3V batteries.
  8. rodeo_joe is right. The 80mm f/1.9 is listed in the original Mamiya 645 manual and thinking about it I recall now why I thought it came much later. When I bought my 1st M645 in June 1977 I wanted the f/1.9 (as I had an 80 Ektar f/2.8 with my Hasselblad 1000F at the time) but no dealer had it in Madison Wi and I ended up buying the camera from NY with the 80mm f/2.8. I wanted to shoot like Dr. Erich Salomon & his 85mm Ermanox. I ended up using Royal-X film instead of my standard HP4/Tri-X 120 at the time. Thanks for the ULD tip. I never knew that! And I am looking at the 300mm & the 500mm.
  9. Yes it is. Just received a data back for the 650... maybe the technical back is next :)
  10. I'm new to this. I did a lot of slide coping with a bellows & slide hold back in the 80's so I understand the idea. What is the MP count that is needed for this to work? I like 11x14 prints so what camera would be a good choice?
  11. So I had to resurrect this thread as I just bought an EOS 650 for $8.88 plus $11.11 shipping in good shape. I ordered a GR-20 grip & remote release for it, a data back, and a body cap. The EOS 650 was selling in 1988 for $750 in 2018 dollars. $8.88 is a bargain. 3 weeks ago I rescued an EOS Rebel S with the 35-105mm lens from my local Goodwill for $11. That got me started down this EOS film camera road. I've bought two more lenses: the 75-300mm Mark III from a pawn shop in mint shape for $53 and a Promaster 19-35mm off of eBay. So 3 lenses cover everything from 19mm to 300mm. I found the original Canon lens shades for both Canon lenses along with body caps, & lens caps. I even bought a Canon 430EZ flash for them. So far they have been fun to play with. The dang batteries cost more than either body did! So is the Rebel S the back-up to the 650 or vice-versa?
  12. Thanks for the endorsement. I had B&H toss in a roll with my order yesterday as they now have it back in stock.
  13. Thanks Giovanni! Good to know as I have both the 80mm f/2.8 and f/1.9. The 80mm f/1.9 came much later than the 2.8 and the #3 tube was available when the M645 was introduced. So a 3-S it is. I think you are right Joe, it must vignette or they wouldn't warn you not to use it. I got my 80mm f/1.9 for a song in 2006ish for like $75. Now they are sky high.
  14. Why not just buy a Mnolta SRT/XE mount film body? They are cheap enough. The 58mm 1.2 is a cult lens for it's bokeh. Don't sell it! Get a film holder for it instead!
  15. I should know this but I don't. I've been looking at getting a couple of extension tubes for my Mamiya 645 1000s and I know that there were at least four made: #1 #2 #3 #3-s And the Macro spacer for the 80mm f/4 macro lens. What is the difference between the #3 and #3-s extension tubes? Thanks!
  16. When I use one reel in a two reel tank I just add an empty reel on top. I use SS tanks & reels and I don't like the reels sloshing around in the tank.
  17. I ordered 220 Velvia twice in the last 3 weeks on eBay from Japan. Both vendors refunded my money and said that they were out. Ugh! I'll try one more time.
  18. Nice stash Ben! If it will help I'll take the 220 film off your hand :) !
  19. Actually they are not. There are at least 5 different ones. After spending 30 minutes on the phone with Canon support, they tell me the the Canon Eye Cup EF 8171A001 will fit the EOS Rebel S. I bought one so when I get it it I'll post the results. I never expected this to be as complicated as it turns out to be.
  20. On a whim, I just bought a dead Canon EOS Rebel S (film) for the outrageous sum of $10 with the 35-105mm f/4.5-5.6 lens. I bought a new battery for it and it and my gosh, works! It has a 24exp roll of fim in it, 9 frames remaining. It is also know as the EOS Rebel 1000F in Japan. It came with the filthiest genuine Canon EOS camera strap I have ever seen :) ! The eyecup is missing. Looking at eBay & Amazon listings for Canon EOS eycups I can't find the Rebel S or 1000F listed. What is the correct eyecup for the EOS Rebel S? This is my fist Canon camera ever so I don't know a lot about them. I am an Olympus OM & E-5 guy. Thanks!
  21. Well, the camera survived and I didn't baby it. It's a camera - use it! Think of Capa on D-Day with his Contax. I'm sure it got a little wet. How do you think Capa felt when the London lab screwed up his D-Day film processing? That was my biggest fear - loosing the film not the Rollei. You are right about the Tessar. My Mom & Dad's wedding pictures were taken in 1949 with a Tessar Rollei TLR - they are very sharp. The Tessar is no slouch.
  22. Humm. My Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX07 has a 5.744 x 4.308 mm size sensor and yields 7MP. Minox negatives are 8x11mm. I've gotten great 11x14 prints from my Lumix. We still use it all the time.
  23. That is weird. I'd contact the factory and send them the photo with the leak and see what they say.
  24. I have a 1952 2.8C Planar that is just fantastic. I had also bought a 3.5 Xenotar which was very sharp as well. I had Harry go thru them and install Maxwell screens. Night & day difference! After using them both, I did sell the 3.5 Xenotar and I still have the 2.8C. I took it to Iraq on my last deployment in 2010 and it was a joy to use. It's never leaving home!
  25. When they make it in 120 rolls I will give it a spin. Freezer is full of Velvia 120 right now.
