1.
Ditto on Eric for a CLA. Well worth saving a classic camera!

 2.
Good luck with the Dimage software. I never liked it and prefer VueScan.

XP is the last version of Windows that Dimage will work with reliably.

 3.
Send it to Harry:

http://www.rolleirepairs.com/

310-374-6506 - email - harry@rolleirepairs.com

 4.
I own a Rollieflex 2.8C, two Hasselblad 2000FC/Ms, and a Hasselblad 500C. Given what you have said get the Rolleiflex. I had Harry Fleenor overhaul mine and install a Maxwell screen in it. It has replaced my 500C as my "walk around camera". In fact, I took it on my last combat tour to Iraq in 2010 as it is super reliable.

Both systems are great cameras. Each has it's limitations and advantages. Both will deliver superb results. Good luck!

 5.
To accurately measure a screen you would have to remove it from the camera or fron it's interchangeable mount, something a lot of folks would be reluctant to do.

Bill Maxwell is still in business. I spoke with him Thursday and today I sent him my #4 screen for my Mamiya 645 1000s to have his upgrade done to it. Contact him and he can brighten your interchangeable screen for the Bronica EC-TL II. Good luck!

 6.
I just returned from a 2 week trip to Scotland and Ireland. I shot 22 rolls of Hp-5 Plus with my Mamiya 645 1000s. Weather was great and the Mamiya worked flawlessly. I took the 35mm, 55mm, and 150mm lenses (21mm, 35mm, and 85mm 35mm FF equivalents) along with the waist level finder and the plain prism finders. My Sekonic L-508 meter came along as well.
Here's the gear:

I configured my Samsonite backpack as a camera case to carry my camera, lenses, & film. It has a large pouch for a 16" laptop. Model is Samsonite Tech Computer Large Laptop Backpack 45759-1041. I bought it 2 years ago and I think it is now discontinued but there are current models that have the same size main compartment.

I use a few Domke camera bags so I decided to use the Domke inserts to protect the gear inside the backpack. The Domke F2 bag inserts fit the Samsonite backpack well.

Here is the Domke F2 padded bottom board in place:

I bought a 3rd party divided insert for the Domke F2 off of eBay:

It went in just fine with the body, lenses, and meter:

I put the bottom board on top to separate the gear from the rest om my carry on gear (film, accessorizes, headphones ect).

The backpack zips up nice & snug and has plenty of room. I could have taken a 35mm RF or DSLR and just adjusted the dividers for the different size camera gear. It doesn't look like a camera bag, just a run of the mill tourist back pack. The rear laptop compartments held my tablet, travel docs etc.

On the way over I put the prism in my suitcase and had the waist level finder on the body. On the way back I left the prism on the body and put the waist level in the suitcase. 99% of my shots with the 35mm & 55mm lenses were landscape so the prism wasn't needed. The 150mm lens really needs the prism and I'm glad I brought it.

Before I left I shot a roll of Fuji 100 E-6 with five frames for each lens to check things out. I use 3rd part metal lens shades and wanted to make sure that there were no issues with them. The 77mm super wide angle lens shade for the 35mm lens just wasn't wide enough and cut into the corners a bit. I left it home; the 55mm & 150mm metal shades were perfect.

So if you are looking for a way to carry your gear when you travel consider a backpack with Domke type inserts to organize your gear. They keep things padded and safe and it's easy to work out of.

 7.
I have used medium format since 1972. I currently use a Mamiya 645 1000s, Hasselblad 2000FC/M, Hasselblad 500C, Rollie 2.8 TLR, and a 6x9 view camera. I just returned from a two week trip to Scotland and Ireland and I took my Mamiya 645 1000s with 35mm, 55mm, and 150mm lenses (21mm, 35mm, & 85mm 35mm equivalents).

I took both the waist level finder and the plain prism finders. The Mamiya kit weighs significantly less than what my Hassleblad kits weigh. I would have perfered talking my 6x9 view but I could not handle the weight travling through airports and my companions would not have the patience that a view camera requiers. Also the car was fully packed as is and there was no room for a tripod.

The Mamiya optics are superb. I have used the Mamiya 645 1000s since 1977 and I have had 3 bodies. I bought my current one from KEH about 10 years ago. Buy one and be done with it!

 8.
Try a Maxwell screen. Bill made one for my Rollei 4x4 127 TLR. Also for my 500C Hasselblad.
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Maxwell-Precision-Optics/200647716643807
http://www.mattclara.com/maxwell/

 9.
I had a chrome 50mm f/4 years ago - it was NOT T* and it was a dog. Worst Hasselblad lens I ever had. I soon sold it.

I now have a black 50mm f/4 T* which is a fine lens. I would wait until a black T* 50mm shows up. Good luck!

 10.
I like to build a 360 VDC power supply for my Vivitar 365 Flash heads. I'd like to get the full power recycle times down to 6 seconds. Anyone know of an AC power supply that can deliver 360 VDC? Or pland to build such a puppy?

The Vivitar ac adapter SB-5 does deliver 360 VDC but the recyle times are 50 seconds plus (not the 14 secs listed in the Vivitar manual - it's an error per Vivitar).

Thanks all!

 11.
I'm considering buying the Leica 135mm F/4.5 Hector or the Leica 135mm f/4 Elmar - both post war. The Hector dates to 1952 and the Elmar is a 1961 vintage.

What I would like to know is how do the two lenses compare wide open, at f/5.6, and at f/8. At F/11 & beyond I think that they would be about the same.

What size filters do the lenses use?

I do not want a Tele-Elmar or Tele-Elmarit, this is for a crazy project of mine that needs a long focus lens.

If you have used either lens I'd like your thoughts on them.

BTW, I have a black Canon135 f/3.5 LTM but do not want to use it.

Thanks!
