Haven't been shooting much, so here's something from a couple weeks ago. I don't think I posted this in a previous thread.

All ginkgo leaves typically fall from the tree within a 24 to 48 hour period. As they are thick and water-heavy, they pile up more like snow than like autumn leaves. Here they are on our lawn and the slide of our swing set.

Greetings all. Well, the help portrait shoots are finally finished. Wonderful project, but alot of work.
This was taken while waiting for some subjects while doing portraits at an old age home. Not at all bad for such a cheap lens.

00XpJA-309867584.JPG.6544d1e14c0aa7bef6ede3a27751beed.JPG

This Monday I spent a good part of the day at the U.S. Courthouse in San Francisco, at a community gathering against Proposition 8 (which eliminated the right of same-sex couples to marry in California) followed by a viewing of oral arguments before the court of appeals. I've been documenting this fight since Prop 8 first passed.

I found my old 75mm EL Nikkor Lens in a box so made a lensboard out of cardboard and Scotch taped it to a cut off Diet Coke can with a hole in the bottom which just fit over my extension tubes and sort of acts like a bellows. Really crude. This is the result. Canon Xsi ISO 400 on camera flash around f/16 @1/200 Its raining and not much else to do.

00XpN6-309903684.jpg.0d67cc0ee0ec12ff17282f732d05bd3d.jpg

Like many others I haven't had the chance to bring the camera out this past week. I'm changing it up a bit and posting a picture I took while in Mexico last year. These 'vaqueros' were actually heading to participate in the September 16th parade on the adjacent street.

I am a little late but this shot was taken earlier this week in the neighborhood. People spend lots of time and money to decorate. I was lazy and used a high ISO with the handheld shot. The problem with the high ISO is it looks like it was almost daylight and it was dark.
