  6. "... you can't..." That may be true for you. But I do that everyday when I make photographs.

  8. My iPhone works fine. Don't want to carry a conventional camera. Photography and making photographs has very little to do with gear.
  9. Thanx! I pop in once in a while. :) http://citysnaps.net/2015%20Photos/Forever%2021%20shot.jpg San Francisco • ©Brad Evans 2020
  10. Here's an exceptionally strong body of work by Associated Press photographer Jae C. Hong. It's about life in Tokyo during the pandemic.
  11. IIRC, my iPhone X camera focal length is 28mm. For me, that's just sorta wide. That said, I do like that fl for a general purpose camera. Here's a photo from my phone: http://citysnaps.net/2015%20Photos/Two%20at%20Ocean%20Beach.jpg Ocean Beach, San Francisco • ©Brad Evans 2020
  12. Still astonished that me using a phone camera continues to irritate you so much. Why you give me that much power, triggered by my camera choice of all things, is baffling. Kind of reminds me of (junior) high school, except it was about cars back then. "and that it's not about the camera, except when it's an iPhone," Which I've never indulged in. The only time I've mentioned my camera choice is when the subject is about cameras. Or as Fred mentioned, when it's about camera phones. Which isn't very often. But please go on making stuff up.
  13. Again, how nice for you. And thanks for sharing, again!
  14. How nice for you. Thanks for sharing! And please, try and relax a bit.
  15. Requirements? Seriously? It's simply my opinion regarding aspects that a photographer draws upon when making a good photograph.
  16. You seem to be the only one trying to make it into an addendum. To me, it's just a handy camera. As I expressed earlier. I have no idea why you let someone who simply chooses to shoot with a phone have so much power over yourself, to the point where you become so agitated. That doesn't seem very healthy.
  17. Eh...camera aspects such as those have never driven my urban photography. I think I can make street pix I'd be happy with using almost any camera. Though for me, having a compact and lightweight camera always in my shirt pocket (ie a phone cam) rules.
  18. It guess it depends on what floats your boat. For some, photography is about gear ownership and debating technical aspects. For others it's about making photographs on the street. For me...compelling "street" photographs are the result of a photographer's life experiences, education, curiosity, imagination, ability to see, ability to assess supporting context and light, recognizing the power of gesture, understanding when/how to hide information, being comfortable around and able to connect with (not necessarily physically) people, being empathic, and on and on. Viewing a good street photograph stimulates my imagination, releasing/conjuring a supporting narrative, and ideally evoking an emotional response. What gear was used matters little to me.
  19. Been making photos with a phone cam for a long time now. It works fine.
