1. This account is being used to spam forums. Previously there was a "Report Spam" option, but now there is just a Report option which has a daily limit. I believe the "Report Spam" went to the forum moderator(s) but if the spam is across multiple forums, having a daily limit using "Report" is less than helpful if that's still the current process https://www.photo.net/discuss/members/nencinenci.10935025/ I already reported the user from the user page. Is there anything else that can be done? What is the policy/procedure now? Thanks.
 2.
[[Why is putting a picture on here so difficult?]

It appears that you attempted to reference a web page, not an image file, in your "insert image" step. An image file that displays in-browser from your uploads, would end in JPG. If you right-clicked and picked "copy link address" that link is not to the image, but to the web page that shows the larger image. Check the copied address before adding it to the "insert image" dialog box.

 3.
[[Jeff, thanks for your help by providing Adobe's telephone number however, the phone number is only available for paying customers]]

[[i have been using CS6 ever since it became available (one time purchase).]]

By definition you are a paying customer are you not?

 4.
Googling a generic version of the error message indicates that you may have turned on Picture Profile and/or are in Movie mode. If neither of these are true, the only step available appears to be a full reset on the camera.

 5.
Depending on the camera model, your long exposure images may show the effects of amp noise in the form of a purple blob or haze, usually near the edges or corners.

There is no physical harm in shooting long exposures.

 6.
I do not see a blue line in the video or in the still image.

 7.
My approach has been, at times, to use a small storage memory card in my camera and go out for photo strolls. I have one camera/card combo that will hold only ~27 RAW photos. I don't delete during these sessions and see if I can force myself to really think about the image before snapping the shutter. It seems to help my brain a bit to re-set and think more carefully about my image creation process. I might only do this a couple times a year, but I find it enjoyable.

 9.
Dave,
As I'm sure you've done, there's some discussions elsewhere about the cards not working in one Sony camera but working perfectly fine in another. Do you have a big-box store nearby that sells Sony cameras? You might take the cards that don't work with you and see if 1) they work in any other Sony camera and 2) they can be formatted in said camera. Maybe just using another camera will "reset" whatever it is that's causing the RX100 to not read the card.
It's a bit of a stretch, especially if you don't have a store nearby with stock, but it might provide additional data.

Also, if you're at the big box store already, buy another card and see if the new one fails in the RX100. If it does then I'd say the RX100 needs to be serviced by Sony.

 10.
How about a thread just for photos taken with a digital point and shoot?

Canon A650 IS

I picked the above shot because I liked the setup. The wind was blowing a bit too much, so I stabilized the flower with the camera itself. :)
https://c1.staticflickr.com/7/6218/6244357626_64b150712b.jpg

 12.
If you just purchased your camera, why wouldn't you return it?

 13.
[[Any suggestion?]]
Depending on your output requirements, moving the camera back and cropping the final image may be an option. There are other challenges there, of course, but it's a rather low cost solution that can be evaluated with beetle-sized test subjects before the real ones arrive.

 14.
Looks pretty decent with a feature set that meets most of my needs. I couldn't care less about an electronic finder in a mirrorless camera, so maybe I'll have to wait and see if they replace the M10 with the internals of this camera.
They still need to work on the lens selection though. This camera is crying out for a couple of decent relatively fast primes.

 15.
Wouter has it. RX100 II or RX100 III can be found on the used market for good prices. The RX100 III has the better aperture range across the zoom but it's pretty short (24mm-70mm equiv)

 16.
[[PNG is a Mac OS image format for screen grabs]]

While it may be true that the default option to save screen captures in MacOS is as a PNG, that does not make it "a MacOS image format."

PNG stands for Portable Network Graphics and was originally intended as a non-proprietary replacement for GIF. It offers a much larger color space than GIF but is not usually the format used to save photographs. JPG is more efficient at that and offers better compression (even if it is lossy) than PNG. For the same photographic image, PNG file sizes will often be much much larger than the equivalent JPG and with almost zero noticeable difference in image quality. If file size is a concern, JPG is the better choice.

 17.
A little more post processing required with this one:
https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/594711-REG/Lomography_253_ActionSampler_Fixed_Focus_4_Lens.html

 19.
+1 to what Robin said. The question is too vague.

That said, in the higher-end (in terms of quality and cost) point and shoot market, the Sony RX100 series is fantastic. I'd recommend either the RX100 II or the RX100 III. The Canon GX7 Mark II is similar and does have an advantage when it comes to using a menu system that would be easy for you to dive into when needing to setup/help out.

 20.
I didn't see an answer to one part of the original question so I think that it should be clarified:

You cannot use the your cameras WiFi to directly upload to internet-based storage sites. The built-in WiFi is for making a connection to local hardware: laptop, tablet, or smartphone and interacting with it. Your camera will only make a local wifi connection (it will become an access point) in order to send images to and from it and your local device.

Unless you want to spend a lot of your time managing your files instead of exploring the parks, I would highly recommend you, at the very least, get a device that will let you copy files directly from the SD cards to backup storage devices.

Also, even if you're not going to use them, you should have backup SD cards for the trip. Not only can you lose cards, but cards can fail. Good 32GB SD cards are so inexpensive it's silly. If this trip is about photography, then have cards, have backup cards, and then have a backup backup card. :)

 21.
A lighter option while still providing some of the more advanced features you're used to might be the Canon 80D. It's a crop-sensor camera but provides weather-resistance, better dynamic range and lower noise than either the 5D (classic) or the 7D (and indeed, even the 7D Mark II).

 22.
I use the inside of whatever cotton t-shirt I'm wearing, as long as it's not soaked, to clean the front element. Sometimes, if it's a lens I really care about, I'll use a microfiber cloth I keep in a ziplock bag inside the camera bag.

 23.
[[i'm sure it has something to do with the heat]]

Or sunscreen or mosquito repellent?
