Taken last Saturday in natural park Sant LLorenç del Munt i l'Obac in Catalonia, Spain: <a title="20101106_051 by lightningwizard, on Flickr" href=" 20101106_051 src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4018/5155543673_201e6230fa_z.jpg" alt="20101106_051" width="640" height="427" />
Actually my mirror dropped out in my 5D this day so I had to guess compositions and focus and expose manually, but it worked out fine most of time. This one was taken with a Sigma 20mm at f/22 near the shortest focus distance and self-timer against shake (1.3 sec exposure at ISO 400)

Playing with low depth of field with my Contax Planar 50mm F1.7 @ F2 on EOS 50D

I had my arm leaning on the tree while taking the photo which kind of reminds me of painting with water colours. Location Saigeon Trail Richmond Hill Ontario.

Good Luck Nathan! I am sure you will do a wonderful job. If you still feel bad about your dad's lack of confidence in you, and if it makes you feel any better, you may help me with my lawn at any time :)

I was asked by my Brother In Law to take photographs at his wedding last week. I was amazed at all the invaluable information I could find at this site. Many thanks to all the contributors, I was able to get some good shots. While I am still processing them, here is one that I like despite the reflection of my umbrella in my BIL's glasses.

I was out for a walk and saw this old man and probably his caretaker. So I stalked for a while before taking this photo. I didn't have a long lens so this was cropped badly.

Hello Canon Folk and good luck Nathan on your new responsibility. You seem to be doing just fine. It's my first time posting an image and I wanted to share this pic I took this past Saturday night. It's a view of downtown L.A. off of 4th St for you locals.

The other day I downloaded a trial version of PhotoAcute (looks like a powerful software, btw) and played a bit with it. Here I combined multiple RAW exposures into a single .dng file, which I then run through Qtpfsgui; here's the larger version of The Secret Garden below. The ugly watermarks are because it's a trail version.

00XfNB-301187584.jpg.3d641b448f841d318f2e42fecb72db67.jpg

On Veterans Day I usually take advantage of the day off and do some sort of photo/wine excursion. Yesterday was no exception. This is at Goldeneye winery and the Confluence vineyard (pinot noir) in the background. This is in the heart of Mendocino County.

I took photos with the 7D (another Error-30) and the EOS-3 all day -- out the Russian River, and north up the Sonoma and Mendocino coasts. Perfect weather!

00XfVS-301327584.jpg.296f10d4cd9e909e4a852f0ab23e1c6d.jpg
